...May previews Day 3, post 2 - and 'Win the release comp!'

ED - the competition is now closed! it's nearly release time!

Afternoon! I have a somewhat longer post for you now as I properly introduce the Folding tag concept. Also, don't forget to go all the way to the bottom of the post - there's a competition you might want to see....

These dies will release tomorrow along with some other goodies, and I just wanted to show you a few neat things about this die set before I get caught up in admin.

Below you can see what the die looks like, the die on the left is how the set looks when you get it - you need to remove the smaller die and grommets (reinforcers) from the folding tag - the die on the right is what it looks like after you have done this - I used a file to remove the last tiny bumps left by the connecting wires, I did this because that big empty area on the bottom of the die creates an embossed raised area if you run it through with an embossing pad.

This is what the cardstock looks like once you have run the die through, for this one I also ran it through with the embossing mat, you can just see the raised area in the bottom of the pic.

There is another line on the die which will leave an impression on the die cut and this is the folding line - this line will appear on the die cut wether you emboss it or not, so you ill always have the guide.

Simply fold up your tag and you will find that the end of the tag will slot snugly into the little half circle tab.

That is the basic folding tag and it is just the perfect size for adding to the front of a card, for putting on a scrap page as a journaling tag, or for attaching to a gift, endless possibilities! Simply add a grommet/reinforcer of your choice and go to town with your stamping!

If you want to get even fancier, I will show you something nifty about the relationship between the folding tag and the largest stitched tag (which we previewed yesterday) from the Stitched tags set - both are shown below, I chose not to emboss the folding tag for this project:

While I was drawing up these tags, I thought it might be useful to set them up so that they nested perfectly on top of each other - I love layers - and I thought this might provide further options for me to create unique tag designs - I made sure that when the folding tag was laid on top of the largest stitched tag, that the holes would line up perfectly - I love the look this creates and it's not something I have seen anywhere else...yet! lol!

I used this combination for today's sample - love it!

I stamped the Enjoy image from the new Tag Collection 1 set onto the front of the folded tag. I stamped the image again onto cream card and simply cut out the enjoy shape, I popped it up on foam tape and added a few flowers, much sponging was done first tho...

On the inside, by happy accident, I found that the message die from the Mini Mail die set was the perfect size to cut out the two cream panels - again much sponging.

I stamped my interior message with a stamp from Vintage Garden Seed Packet and the apple blossom stamp from Vintage Garden Flowers.

Finished off the back with a stamp from the Make Your Mark Set! Hope it tickles!

The competition

I have up for grabs tomorrow's entire release - a Simple Sprig die set, A set of Stitched Tag dies, a Folding Tag die set and the stamp set Tag Collection 1.

In order to be in with a chance of winning, I am going to ask you to share a couple of your favourite samples from the last couple of days - you can share pics from either this blog or any of the DT blogs - you can pin them to Pinterest, Facebook, or even your own blogs, just be sure to mention that they are from our release which is happening tomorrow!

Come back to this post and let me know that you have shared a little WMS love by leaving a comment on this post - A random winner will be drawn from the comments here - and you must leave a comment here, it won't matter where you shared if you don't pop back and leave a comment here so that we know!

I will close this competition tomorrow at 6:00pm and the winner will be announced at 6:30pm, just before the release goes live at 7:00PM

Good Luck!

If you missed this morning's post, here are the DT ladies sampling with me today!
