...October release schedule

EDIT- This competition is now closed, thanks to all who left fabby ideas for gifts!!!

Good evening! Tomorrow we release 6 new clear photopolymer stamp sets!!

They are:

Seasonal Remedies - large set
Santa's coming to town - small set
Nordic Winter - large set
2011 Holiday Ornaments - large set
Candy Jar Christmas - large set
Candy Jar Christmas Fillers - large set

So far the DT ladies have brought the house down with their samples for the first 4 sets and tomorrow, on the release waltz, you will see samples for the last two sets, my personal favourites...next to Nordic Winter...

Just in case you are new here, and even if you're a regular, I thought you might like a little schedule of what's happening when, times are all local to me - to see what time it is where I am, see the clock on the right:

6:00PM - the Store will close to allow final adjustments
6:30PM - the winner of the competition (see end of this post) will be announced here on the blog
7:00PM - the New Stamps for October post will go live on this blog, there will be more              fabulous samples from the DT
7:15PM - the Store will re-open.

And FYI

7:00PM in 19 September my time is approximately equal to:

In the USA - 11:00 am Pacific, 12:00 pm Mountain, 1:00 pm Central, 2:00 pm Eastern
In Australia - October 16th, 4:00am (sorry ladies!!)
In Canada - British Columbia 11:00AM, Ontario 2:00PM. Nova Scotia 3:00PM
In Germany - 8:00PM
In Netherlands - 8:00PM
In South Africa 8:00PM
In Malaysia - October 16th2:00am (sorry ladies!!)
In Russia, Moscow - 10:00PM

And, just in case you are wondering what happened to my samples today, I confess, I am fussy, the light was terrible and the light box and I are no longer on speaking terms ... at some point during the day I had to move on to getting the store set up and so I'll be showing my samples after the release is open.

Competition

Anyhow, now seems like a grand old time to start the competition - I will let it run until tomorrow at 6:00pm my time

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment here, tell me what you most like to give at Christmas. I love to give food gifts, I always imagine the recipient in a quiet moment savouring crumbly shortbread or enjoying a cookie in the peace of the house once the wee folks are all in bed - what do you like to give?

A random commenter will be chosen to receive the complete October stamp release!!! all 6 sets!

  1. I love giving matching gifts - cards and crocheted items being my favorite!

  2. Lately, I am enjoying giving handmade card sets to all my female friends/relatives. It's so much easier to give gifts to girls than guys. Guys want electronics that cost a bundle--they don't like just little pretty things that you can think of a million options for girls.

Thanks for the chance to win this great release!

  9. I like to give sets of tags for my friends--they are fun to make since they are so small and I know they will be tossed away, so I don't have to be perfect.

The sets so far look gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love giving handmade gifts and gifts that support charities!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I love to give sets of cards. Crazy, I know, but I make hundreds of cards at Christmastime for teachers and friends--not Christmas cards. Last year I also made stovetop potpourri sets, which were much easier...

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love giving to a charity in honor of a family or in memory of a loved one who passed away in the past year. The first Christmas without a loved one is always the worse.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love giving hand painted Christmas ornaments. I don't think there is anything better than something home made.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love giving handmade or food gifts. Made sloe gin for the first time last year - but we kept it all. This year I've found the perfect gift bottle, so will be out collecting sloes soon. I also made some fab chilli jam from home grown chillis and sweet peppers - so that will be another potential batch of gifts.
Loved the look of the nordic stuff (I currently have a nordic stitching book from the library)

  19. I also love to give something made from home, usually something put up from the garden (jelly, pickles, spiced nuts, pesto, zucchini relish) and for my husband's friends, a home brewed Christmas IPA.

  20. I can't wait to see the full reveal! I never bought a Halloween stamp set until I came across WMS. My favorite gift to give at Christmas is anything handmade, the last few years, it's card sets. People love them!

Anything I find a template for that is unique and thoughtful.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Firstly I'd like to point out that I am mostly Teetotal, but, at Christmastime I love a glass of bailey's or a glass of Sheridans liqueur, so I buy little miniatures to pop in the adults presents as a little indulgence treat for that quiet moment to themselves.

  36. Since everyone in our family has differnt decorating styles and tastes, my husband and I start planing months ahead. So far this years gifts include, a quilt, journal & cards, and a floor cloth. I like each gift to be personal this way the person knows we created something special with them in mind and that we didn't just run to a store and grab the first thing we saw.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow...all 6 sets! You're too generous. I love to give anything homemade at Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I try to find something new out there in papercraft land to make for my family and friends, or sets of cards that I know my mother and her sisters really appreciate.

Looks like a great release Claire, particularly Nordic Winter, I have been looking for a cross stitch kind of pattern which will be so useful at other times of the year.

Thanks for the chance to win Claire - this is a fabby release! I LOVE Nordic Winter!!

  43. I usually give food or sometimes wine as gifts, but not always homemade, but for me it's all about making/decorating the container for the food -- that's as much fun as seeing the recipient's expression when they receive it!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love giving handmade gifts, of course! My favorite to make and gift are memory boxes tailored (with stamping and photos) to the recipient. Can't wait to see the new stamps!

  45. Your design team has sold your release for you so no worries on the samples. I never know how people get such good pictures anyway.

What do I love to give at Christmas? I admit it - I am pragmatic. I like to give something useful or consumable - even if it's just a gift card so the recipient can purchase something frivolous themselves. I especially like to do this with teachers - I figure they get plenty of candles and hand lotion. I do like to hand the gifts out with a paper crafted tag or card to it doesn't seem like I am giving a gift without thought.

    Looking forward to tomorrow!

  57. This is hard... I LOVE giving stuff the recipient loves... I do like to make and give cookies, paper crafts and I like to do a 12 days thing.... each of my family members get one tiny gift for each of the 12 days before Christmas... it's a challenge to not spend much more than $1 per gift... sometimes i will do more, but i try to stick with that as i do it for 8 people. Even though the gifts aren't costly... it's fun to have a little something to look forward to each day... If they no longer live here, I put them in a basket and send them home for them to be on the honor system! Those with pets can't receive any food gifts in there!!

This year I am *so* excited to see my 3 year old's face when she sees the gift she asked from a certain man in red waiting for her... I know she's finally going to see the magic, and I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Something handmade with love....every time... unless it's for littlies.....then I try and add a gift token so they can pick just the right thing :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. I really got into giving homemade caramels last year. But, while I was excited about that, what I was really after was something small enough that I could put my handmade gift tags on. I really got into making tags last year and am looking forward to doing more this year for friends and family.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I love to always given at least one hand made gift as well as hand made cards and tags to my two children with spouses, my husband and my two darling grand daughters. I love to give gifts from my beautiful part of the world - Oregon. I like to make marionberry jam, fashion a Christmas wreath from local Douglas and Noble fir boughs, go to the coast to get freshly caught and canned oysters or salmon, and dry bushels of rose petals for potpourri. But I really have trouble making tags and embellishments for these gifts. Sure hope I have a chance to win some fabulous Waltzingmouse stamps!

  95. Thanks soo much for some really awesome stamps here Claire. They´re all sooo gorgeous, and I really love them a lot.
I just love to give anything handmade for christmast depending on, who it is and how old they are, but if I possibly can, I try throug the year to write down, every time I hear someone talk about some vcertain things, they would espicially like to have, and there´s nothing like to watch their faces, when they open a gift for christmas and suddenly remember, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah this was that thing I wanted you to make for me in April, and now I actually got it. That´s just the best to me.
HAve a wonderful week-end and lots of fun everyone.

  96. I love giving my friends homemade gifts for them personally, a little treat for them to hide away and savour alone. Anyone who has kids knows what I mean ! 98. For my beloved I like to give gifts that I made myself. And my son also makes his own Christmas cards for his teachers at school.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I knit almost all of my gifts. Fingerless mitts are my favorite, as they are not as easy to buy as mittens or gloves and are much more useful in my opinion! Hats and scarves too, so no worries about whether it fits or even whether I'm on gauge, LOL! I tell my relatives they can have cash or a skein of yarn and some of my time; they always choose the yarn and time (and love)!

    ReplyDelete
  100. In our family - books are the presents that go down best - Christmas morning is such fun as people open their presents and discover which books or games they've been given. And the afternoon and Boxing day are usually spent reading quietly in groups - sharing the stories - or in very competitive games!!! :0

BTW - Claire you've out done yourself with these sets - love what I've seen and can't wait to see the cookie jar sets!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Our favorite gift to give is Hot Fudge Sauce!

    ReplyDelete
  102. I love to do anything homemade, but my favorite of recent years are Clone of a Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. I make up 4-5 batches on Christmas Eve Day and then in the evening my family and I walk to each neighbor and hand deliver a Christmas gift and wish. They are oven-ready so it will fill their homes with sweet aromas while they open up gifts on Christmas day.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I usually make handmade gifts; some of the food kind but also sets of cards too. Like to think that the 'giving' can last past the Christmas season.

Thanks you Claire for this beautiful and thoughtful 'surprise' release. Nice to get our supplies in time for the Christmas card making frenzy.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Thanks for the chance to win Claire! I like to chose presents that are really appropriate for the receipients, like in their favourite colours or to do with their hobbies or interests. Home made jewellery is always appreciated, especially in it's own specially stamped box.
I have just come out of work yesterday, so I hope that I will have more time to make inexpensive hand made gifts this year. The seasonal Remedies set will be just perfect!

  106. So sorry to miss your samples, Claire, but I'm sure you'll show us later on, or other gorgeous cards! I'm curious for those jars you mention! I used to love to give books! I'm a huge fan of reading and think reading is good and relaxing and everyone should. But since I started making cards, I add a handmade card set or something else that I did something on by hand. Like last year I gave my father-in-law a handmade cooking book, completely for risottos, all decorated and he loved it! So maybe this year a combination; a book with a bookmark or something like that! :-D
    Hugs, Wendy

  108. Books! I love to give away books! Is it because I am a book lover myself? Well, there's probably no doubt about it!

Here in Sweden we celebrate Christmas Eve with gifts, not the Christmas day morning. As a child I always thought that made very much sense, since I had the firm belief that Santa lives in the North of Sweden and he gives us the gifts first so he doesn't need to drag around the heavy gifts further than necessary... (I had a very thourough Santa mythology, I gave very much thought to this! :D )

I still think that if I get a book from Santa (or from any of my family or friends) that it's the ultimate proof that I've been very very good! ;)

Last year we were overloaded with bramley apples - so I decided to give apple jelly as an extra gift but none of the THIRTY jars I made set. Rather than throw it away, I found an appletini cocktail recipe and made a lable with your rescue remedies and but the recipe on the back!

Roll on 7pm for rescue remedies 2....

I'm with Cheryl on this....I do like to remember things the person I'm giving to has said possibly during the year and will make a note of their likes and dislikes and I do love to get exactly what I feel they would like...sometimes a very hard job but it does work on most occasions....the great thing is when you hear them say - 'how did you know I wanted that' - it's just a matter of listening during the year.

  149. For my girls' teachers we like to give them the "gift of time". We make three nights worth of dinners, one that can be eaten that night and two that can be frozen so they don't have to think about dinner for at least three nights. Dinners come complete with appetizer, main meal and dessert. It's been a huge success with the teachers around an especially busy time of the year.

  174. Every year at Christmas I made a sweet roll recipe that takes all day to make, messes up the entire house and has about a million calories in it. It is in the shape of a Christmas tree and has cherries on it. When my kids were little, they fought over who got the top piece. Now that they are grown and live on their own, I have to make 3 of them. Triple the mess, but I could never let them wake up on Christmas morning without getting a chance at that top piece. I am tearing up just typing this. My best, all time Christmas memory and gift...ever.
