...Elf Made stamps and a final giveaway!

Good evening folks! are you liking the previews? I am, I love Christmas! Today the DT ladies are previewing our third set of this release - 'Elf made' - It's a cracking 6x8 set featuring two cute elves and various other bits and bobs designed to elvify your gift giving and cardmaking for this coming Christmas Season.

The card above was made by Jeanne, it features the boy elf stamp from the new Elf Made set - and also a couple of sentiments from that set - it's a cute set and is ideal for folks who like to do a little colouring, or paper piecing. I have pinched it to head up my blog post as I'm still busy with the Jolly old Elf... samples below...

Giveaway

For this release I'm doing a giveaway for each set we have previewed, so, as with the previous two posts, we want you to share, pin, tweet all of your favourite samples of 'Elf Made'. Don't forget to come back here and leave a comment on this post - telling us how you have shared. A winner will be drawn from the comments tomorrow evening at about 6:30pm my time, just before the release goes live at 7:00pm.

We will have 3 winners in total, one each from the Flurries Post, the Jolly Old Elf Post and this Elf Made post. You can still enter these if you have not done so yet!

Ok, well I'm not quite finished with my Jolly Old Elves and so I have a few samples for you now that use that set,

The Jolly Old Elf set has a good many little accessory stamps in it - like this list stamp - I trimmed it out neat and just inserted it into a little slit I made at his left glove, it looks like he has been checking the list! The Santa Elf was stamped with just two stamps - the Santa figure and the hat. I stamped these onto a Santa shaped cut out that I created with the Cameo - Cut files will be available for this set, there were simply way too many options to do a die set for. I flocked his beard, and his hat band, and the wee pom pom at the tip of his hat. I took a black pencil and just filled in some black over his boots and belt, I'm just noticing I forgot to colour this tiny bit inside his buckle...lol

Finally this morning, my little Pretty panels dies came and on this card I have used Pretty Panel #2. The pretty panel dies work in the same way that the Picot panel die did - they are self matting. I love this feature - I always think a panel is a little naked without a mat and this type of die answers that perfectly.

The neat thing about figure stamps is that you can find so many more uses for them than some other types of stamps - here I have made up a Santa using 3 component stamps - the boots are one stamp (stamped in black), the legs, striped pantaloons and gloves are another stamp (stamped in green) and the waistcoat, sleeves and face are another stamp (stamped in red). I love how this looks like Santa in his civvies, it's like he is relaxing at home after the big event. I stamped him onto a cut-out that I made on the Cameo - I cut two of them and put a horizontal crease in one of them, I folded the feet backwards and glued the top half to the reverse of the stamped image, this makes the figure stand up.

By punching a tiny hole at his mitten and inserting a cocktail stick, you can have him wave a little flag - in this case I'm using him as a place card with my name on the flag.

I did the same thing with a full Santa image, except this time I just made a tiny slit at the bottom of each mitten so that I could slot in a little banner with a name on it. I just cut a thin strip of pattern paper and rolled the edges. There will be little banners in the Cut files that co-ordinate with this set if you fancy doing the same. I brushed around the edges with glue and added a little glitter, this is something that will take moments to make, even for a dozen or more guests. Below is the back view so you can see how he stands.

I just had to try out my Pretty Panels #1 die also, it's also self matting, and has a dainty little pin prick detail around the edge, here I made the main panel in cream and matted it with some glitter card. The accessory stamps in Jolly Old Elf are great fun and are perfect for mini cards in their own right. I've used the boots stamp and added a jingle bell to the toe of each. I mounted it on some patterned paper that's been lurking forever.

Hope it tickles!
