...because he doesn't do 'mush'....

There are oodles of doilies in my 'resources' box, I have new heart dies fresh out the bag, I have beads, bling, ribbons and pearls, but DH doesn't do mush, so for a Valentines possibility I dug the Ocean Bound stamp set out and mixed in a little Splat That.

I stamped off the splatter on a piece of scratch paper first and used the second impression on my card front - I added the sentiment directly over that. Popped up the anchor on dimensional foam and stuck the panel to the card front and then thought that I should have punched a wee hole at the top of the anchor and added a little string, but I'll be darned if I am going to risk mangling that wee anchor cut out - it was a cut file from the co-ordinating Ocean Bound cut file set, I have already packed the silhouette away and I don't feel like dragging it out again...next time...

Just in case DH feels like the message on the front is getting a little heavy (remember this guy does not do mush) I lightened up the card by calling him 'Sailor boy' on the inside, not sure how that will go down....

I am finding that wee Splat That set absolutely un-put-downable today, it just worked so well with Ocean Bound - I've stamped it in pale blues to give a sort of watery grounding for the wee boat.

And since DH is also not a hoarder in any shape or form I added a wee note to the back of the card to let him know what to do with it, when he's finished..... I love this little stamp from Make your Mark.

Hope it tickles!

  5. Stupendous of course. Yep, mine doesn't do mush either. I love this - I wanted to make a card for eldest g/daughter's 21st tomorrow and have just stuffed up one - your card has given me an idea! On to number 2!

  9. Tell me, what Irish male does 'mush'? - you'd have to go far to find one I imagine LOL !!
Great card which is very meaningful with no 'mush' at all.

  10. Behind on the blog, evidently. My husband doesn't do mush either and I hoard enough for the two of us. I like the idea of using the recycle stamp to give implicit permission to shed the card! Never thought of it that way.

  11. Great cards! I don't know if mine likes mush or not, I just kind of force it on him.
