I thought for my waltz card today I'd do a guy birthday card, and I had the idea of overstamping my sentiment, I used two of the large words from Say it Loud to make up the happy birthday. A little crazy stitching, gingham, distressing, torn edges...these are things I have come to associate with 'men' cards! lol, why is that...?
anyhow...
I'm waltzing along today with our monthly blog waltz deets here - hope to get an hour later to see who else is dancing along!! I love the relaxed pace of our waltz.... if this were any other blog hop, I'd be late! ;)
If you know how this works, the links are here and the chat is here. The theme is masculine cards!!
I used our new Gingham and Co stamps for the background and the Say it loud stamps to make up my front sentiment and for the inside. I added a little paper aeroplane from Free Spirit Boy, just to reinforce the 'man' feel!
Much sponging and use of blues and cinnamon type colours makes for quite a masculine card...I thought...
Claire, just perfection!!!! Love the airplane..quite the touch, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Claire and the gingham is just right.

This is brilliant - I do like the big, bold sentiment and the grunge, distressed look. Super colours and the chunky buttons are a great accent. Love the airplane on the inside - perfect!!

ReplyDeleteLOVE the second card and all of it's simple glory.
ReplyDeleteMarvellous manly card, Claire!! Great colours which work so well with the weathered look and perfect finishing touches ... including the inside! The new stamp sets are fabulous ... I'm saving my pennies! Happy Waltzing!

ReplyDeleteCan't waltz this month due to work commitments but I am waltzing in spirit!
Gorgeous as always! I like the oversized sentiment stamped over itself, looks great!
ReplyDeleteOeh, good thing I chose those ginghams with the winning of the challenge, just look at this background, it's stunning!!! Love the colors you chose, Claire! And this Say It Loud set has just arrived today, so can't wait to use it! Wonderful inspiration with you, thank you!!!

Wacky stitching and torn/distressed edges, you have masculine down to a t! Love your design, the colors, etc.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Claire. Love seeing your creations, like always.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just adore the way you tilted that gingham background! How funny that we both ended up with very similar backgrounds (I didn't do it with Gingham, though--used Off Beat Backgrounds). Love the notebook paper look and the buttons--it makes a great boy card!
