...big stamps

I'm just confirming some deliveries for WMS November goodies and looking at one of the stamp sets I am struck by how it contains what might be our biggest ever stamp!!! lol, got, ya thinkin'???

Anyhow, it prompts me to post a wee note to remind everyone that large stamps need to be very slowly and carefully peeled away from the carrier sheet when you first get them. All clear stamps are extra sticky when new and it's not such a big deal once you've used them once or twice but the first 'peel' should be slow...LOL

A long time ago I peeled a large Nestie Egg stamp too fast and ended up with a wee patch on the reverse that wasn't as clear as the rest of the stamp, the stamp works great, the little 'foggy' bit didn't affect performance, as the rest of the stamp was still perfectly sticky, but I'm ultra fussy and don't like little foggy bits no matter how small so I peel real slow.....

Just thought I'd 'advance warn' you for the monster stamp that's coming in November...LOL

  1. Sometimes if you rub the back with rubbing alcohol those foggy bits will go away.

  2. Yep I'm thinkin' - I have brain ache now LOL! Any chance of having a clue - apart from being 'BIG'.
I'm off to play with my new stamps that arrived this morning.

  3. Yup, I did the same thing with the text backgrounds! You'd think I'd learn by now... I read someone said that a little rubbing alcohol rubbed on the back sometimes clears it up... but I've never tried it.

    And you're such a tease Claire - I can't wait to see what's coming.

  6. Yay, look at that adorable mouse up there!

You have me intrigued, because I was amazed, when my stamps arrived yesterday, at the size of the largest bloom in the poinsettias!!

SO looking forward to November 7!!! Well, the 4th for sneek peeks, I guess ;)

  9. I wonder what it might be!!! I am going to ink up some WMS now, so I stop thinking about the huge stamp (maybe a large backgrounder???)
I am going to make one of those tags for your challenge, I love the stamps I received this week. I am a WMS ADDICT!!!!!

  10. Thanks for the heads up Claire! When I receive my WM Stamps, I have the tendency to TEAR right into them! I will use with great caution :)

  11. That's good advice, Claire ... I've done the same thing more than once in my eagerness to begin stamping! I hadn't realised that it was my being a wee bit hasty causing the smoky patches. The stamps perform perfectly, so no problem there ... but I do know just what you mean about them looking crystal-clear and perfect! I'll try the alcohol rub tip which has been suggested by a couple of bloggers.
I can't wait to see your November release ... whatever can this *huge* stamp you've got up your sleeve possibly be? Is it a whole Christmassy scene ... a Gingerbread house, with all the trimmings ... Santa with his sleigh full of toys ... I give up!! Whatever it is, I know I'll want it!!
