My friend left these adorable little hearts in my craft room, I'm not sure if she meant to, but since she wasn't here I figured they were fair game. Perfect for adding a little seasonal flourish too with the new Nordic Winter set...
The girls have been previewing this set all day while I struggled with awful lighting... here is the link list:

Becca Feeken
Belinda Chang Langner

These little hearts are wooden, and well sanded with lovely smooth surfaces, they were crying out to be stamped...
I used SU Cherry Cobbler.... at the moment there is no other red.
Next I switched to more muted colours to make this simple tree card. I cut out 5 medium sized banner shapes with
Spellbinders Banner dies. I folded them in the centre and adhered them back to back to make this little tree. Hot glued a tin star at the top and added a simple sentiment, also from Nordic Winter.
I love stamping the borders from Nordic Winter in different combinations and I decided to make some table top trees with the banner dies in just the same way as I made the card, I always think of Nordic style as being simple and though these stamps are detailed, they maintain that simple style, especially if you stamp them in single colours.
There are limitless combinations in which to stamp the borders and motifs to create unique pieces with that Nordic Knitted feel. I am barely scratching the surface with these examples and I look forward to really getting my teeth into this set!
A little tip for lining up the borders on your block:
If you lay the largest border down, on the table, stamping side down and just step back a moment, it will fall naturally into a straight line, you can then lay out any of the thinner borders beside it and just push them up beside the thicker border, then lay the clear block on top of them, see the pics below.
Hope it tickles.
Very nice.. patterns remind me of sweaters...

Oh Claire, this is absolutely AMAZING!!! The 15th seems very far away - I want them NOW!!!
ReplyDeleteClaire, those are lovely samples! And the border stamps look enormously long! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do tickle, the samples are amazing.
ReplyDeleteClaire, your projects with the new stamps are gorgeous! I love the little wooden hearts and I think they are just perfect for those little images.
ReplyDeleteThe card with that tree is such a great idea and it looks really very beautiful. And that table top tree in blue is also so pretty, I really love everything you showed.
And thanks for the tip for lining up the borders, that's VERY useful. I always placed the stamps directly onto the acrylic block and often wondered why I don't manage to get a "straight line". So next time I will try your tip and see whether it works better.
I can't wait to see the complete set very soon. But already now I know that I want to have this "Nordic Winter" as it obviously offers so many possibilities. And when I see the patterns, I always think of the wooden pullovers in Norwegian design which I like so much.
Kind regards
Carola

Everything you've done with this Nordic set is just simply incredibly creative and wonderful.....it is something which, I suspect, few of us would want to be without....and you know when I look at the patterns when they are stamped in red they look like beading - or is it just my screen? Love the wooden ornaments...so, so Scandanavian...and therefore for me a must have.
