Tomorrow we will be releasing 3 new clear photopolymer stamp sets here on the blog and today the DT and I are showing samples of goodies made with the new Folk Art Medallion set.
Here are the DT ladies, don't forget to pin your faves as you go past - today's Pin keyword should be #wmsfolkmedallion, copy and paste it from here to save you typing, lol! I'm just a teensy bit concerned that the keywords function on Pinterest is not working for me in the way it should beat the moment - I'm having awful bother gathering the pins that folks have made, but I'm hoping the good folks at Pinterest will be able to fix it in time for tomorrow, when I will pull out all the winners! Anyhow, onwards...
I am in love with this set. I know, I'm not supposed to gush about things I made, but I very, very much like this folk art feel.
I have so much to show you about this set, but I am beginning with these two very simple cards. I love to stamp, I love to make pattern and this set is designed to allow me to do lots of that. So many colour combinations are possible for the medallion owing to the fact that the roundel has spaces in it to allow you to stamp the flowers individually, in whatever colour you like.
This morning I have two cards for you, both nearly identical except for colour. This card below has been created by stamping the medallion image and the little accompanying flowers into the roundel - and white embossing all of them. Then, I used copic markers in various bright shades to pick out the elements, pure folk I thought! loved this....
but this one..... I love more! I'm very partial to that font also, I think it has a great folksy feel to it!
Every metallic embossing powder I have was put to use on this one. The roundel was stamped first in Versamark and then embossed in Verdigris embossing powder. Then I added all the flowers in batches and embossed them in copper, gold and silver...half of you might be horrified, I've probably broken some rule or other about using so many metallics, but I absolutely adored this! lol.
Ok, I'm off doing all the last moment prep for the release, I may or may not be back with you today, but just fyi - our release goes live here on the blog tomorrow at 7:00pm - I will post a schedule in the morning, and if I am not chatting to you before then, have a lovely day!
I LOVE all the sets this release, but I am enamoured with this one in particular--HAPPY, LOVELY, VERSATILE!!

Beautiful. So much colour.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your products and website (found my way here from Becca's blog) but I am so impressed and will be shopping from your fabulous products. I never thought I needed Spellbinders Labels 25 as I already have many of their dies but your stamps have made me rethink that. I am also loving stamps from past releases for usecwith my current dies.
ReplyDeleteHappy to have found my way to all your fabulous collections!
Looks like I am several years late discovering this set ! I am new to cardmaking and love the look of the medallion set, but it sadly seems to be discontinued. Any chance of it (or something similar) making a comeback on Gina K?
ReplyDeleteHi Rusty, many thanks for the comment - I might have a spare set of that left, pop me a pm on facebook if you would like to chat, cheers, Claire
