...Couple of freebies

ED - Genius solution Rebecca! Cheers!

Happy Tuesday! It feels like a Sunday here, I have the wee folk off school for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. Did you do anything nice for it? We drove to Newcastle to see one of the beacons being lit, it was happening on top of the highest peak in Northern Ireland and we figured that it'd be easy to see, but I guess you really had to be right beside it to see it....lol, it was a nice evening anyhow...

I have a wee card here which uses some of the stamps from Paris Nouveau, I'm still wrestling with mojo issues and suffered a complete blank when I forgot to sponge the Eiffel tower before adhering it, lol, but I'm getting there...

Just while I was at it, I thought I'd add a couple of cut files to the store - these are free for your own fun and include the Eiffel tower shape and the wee taggy shape. The tag may be cut out witha circle punch, but I thought it'd be fun to have a shaped tag also and I've included that in the set. Go here to down load your freebie - and please, do contact me if the link is not working....I've had a few issues setting up this download, I'm pretty sure it's A-ok now, but just in case...

If you have not yet seen the freebie section of the store, it is here.

I also used my fave chicken wire background stamp on this set, I stamped on pattern papers, from a Glitz French kiss paper pad.

I love that blue crinkly ribbon, but I have no idea where to buy it, it was sent to me by a stamping buddy! OOh and a little of our cotton trim too.

I did go with our 100th sketch for this, but I did sort of twist it around to suit myself...hope you don't mind!! Are you playing? I hear there's prizes...lol!

  1. I think you card is absolutely lovely! The Eiffel Tower not being sponged makes it look crisp against an aged background...looks like it was meant to be that way. ;D

Thank you for the freebies, very generous of you!

  3. I'm always forgetting to sponge until after I've adhered layers! Two solutions 1. Place your negative die cut over top and hold in place while you sponge. 2. Unless you placed your adhesive very close to the edge, you can probably tuck a post it note under the edge. Sponge as much as you can then move the post it along. Works very well! The post it adhesive helps hold it in place while you sponge.

  7. I love your card! The crinkly ribbon looks like it might be hug snug seam binding? I get mine from Zipperstop in New York (they also trade on Ebay). I've found their service to be excellent and can highly recommend them. You can also get smaller quantities from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop (in the UK). I got hooked on using seam binding as Becca Freeken uses it a lot on her lovely cards. Hope this helps.

The card is great.....haven't any of that ribbon myself either....have never used it so will have to search it out....perhaps Clare in down South could put us on to a supplier - she's good at finding beautiful arty things!
