Good morning! I am showing samples from two new small Halloween sets! Today's card is from a set called
Gracie at Halloween. People stamps are something a little bit new for WMS and we hope you are liking our little vintage chicks!
Normally we wouldn't bet releasing new stamps again until September, but I couldn't resist sneaking these two sets out early! This is the main image from the second set and it features a younger girl than Cicely, on her broom with her beloved kitty. I'm showing samples until Sunday, then on Monday the DT ladies will begin our SOAP event and these two Halloween sets will be available at the store!
I coloured with copics again, and nope, I didn't have a black pen and so we couldn't have a black cat! I think a big ginger cat is ok tho, these little chickies are only playing at being witches...
I made the background pattern with the gothic text stamp from Text - It and also the newly released Flourishes set, which I clear embossed. Plenty of sponging. The sentiment is from the Gracie set, but I inked up the words individually and satmped them one at a time, I wanted them to fit on the lovely Labels 22 panel ( a new Spellbinders CHA release, as is the main panel). A little ribbon and we're all set!
Later on today I will have another post for you - lots of folks wondered about the aperture with teeth from yesterday and I have a few pics of that to show, as well as some more samples, these two sets may be small, but they are jam packed!
Stay tuned....ooh and a comp...we must have a comp!! Ok, leave a comment here telling me what you think of our new friends Cicely and Gracie. A random winner will be chosen on Sunday night!! The winner will win a copy of each set!
Hope it tickles!
Oh Claire this is beautiful! I love your colouring on this sweet little girl! The 20's vintage feel to these images are wonderful, and the background text stamp look fabulous with the overstamped scrolls. Amazing cards! These images remind me of a Famous Five book when I was a child, so I'm now craving a slice of cake and lashings of ginger beer hurrah!
ReplyDeleteI love both these girls: they are so sweet looking!! Cicely though just captures my heart: I just love the wand and the magic sparkles coming from it, and the movement of her walking that you captured so well. And I will always think of the name your girls gave the "hamster bat" :-D Beautiful job Claire!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card - love the ginger cat!! The texty backing with the black flourishes looks amazing! Claire - these are on my list - and I can't wait to see your other new girlies!!
ReplyDeleteI just adore Cicely & Gracie. I love all things Halloween and I love finding unique and pretty Halloween art. These two lovely ladies certainly are just a perfect find!
ReplyDeleteI think that the ladies are full of character and beautifully drawn.
ReplyDeleteYou've shown them off beautifully too with your colouring.
I love these sets and I love the name "Gracie" - it was my Grandma's name too!
ReplyDeleteLittle Gracie is just as charming as her big pal Cicely. I think your vintage 'chickies' playing witchesnare just adorable.
ReplyDeleteHow cute are these stamps?! I am looking forward to seeing more of these vintage girls for other occasions. I like the new nesties too!

Ohhhh I just love Cicely and Gracie! Your cards for each are just so special and I love how you colored them. I may have to break down and invest in some copics.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the vintage look.
Ooohhh, I love Cecily and Gracie, can't wait for their release! Beautiful card, amazing colours, exquisite detail as always.
ReplyDeleteI love both of the new WMS ladies, and want to see what else they get up to during the year. Are they coming out again dressed up warm for Christmas?! :) Love the big ginger cat too!!
ReplyDeleteOh Claire, I think these girls are so cute! Love the 1920s feel to them! And your coloring is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh another beauty! They are just the sweetest Halloween sets!!! I think her little orange cat is perfect! Love those sentiments in that font, Claire!

These two little ladies are adorable. You are so talented! I can't wait to add them to my collections. So looking forward to more of these vintage beauties.
ReplyDeleteI wish it could be halloween all year round if done in Waltzinmouse Style! What a beautiful project and a great way to showcase your stamps!
ReplyDeleteOoooh!!! Halloween is my favorite holiday!! Those stamps are just fabulous!
ReplyDeletebrilliant!! love it!! : )
ReplyDeleteThat background is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a fabulous job with these cards Claire! I'm not much into Halloween, but you are making me wish I was!
ReplyDeleteClaire, the images in these sets are just beautiful. So detailed!! They really showcase your talent as an artist. Both young ladies are so cute - love the broom. And the cherry on top is the wee kitty cat!
ReplyDeleteClaire I think you must love Halloween almost as much as you do Christmas! I agree your colouring (especially the shading effects) looks really cool on these cuties. They have a really quaint 'story-book' appeal to them - kinda of Enid Blyton feel.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say 'Cicely & Gracie' what adorable, perfectly old fashioned little girl names you gave them!
ReplyDeleteOK...loved Cicely yesterday...
ReplyDeletebut Gracie has gotten my heart...
LOVE her!
I'm not a big Halloween person...and was SO excited to read that we can expect more of these darlings with other Holidays...
CHRISTMAS...
but I think she needs to come to my house!
She's adorable...
and I don't know what you're talking about with your Copic skills...
divine!!

ReplyDeleteBe still my heart - vintage AND Halloween - how much better can it get? These little gals are adorable, can't wait to see more. You've done it again, Claire - wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful Claire! Love what you have done with them!
ReplyDeleteWow. You've knocked it out of the park yet again, Claire!
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled when I saw Gracie, but simply awed when I saw Cicely. Your details are spot-on. Love those wee bursts, too!
So you really can have a Halloween card without black!!! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, the great background text and flourishes!
These girls are just terrific Claire!
So beautiful! These girlies are just lovely! And, your cards are simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a big ginger cat.
ReplyDeleteI like both girls. I'm looking forward to the whole release.
Eveline.
What I love about these two cute little girls is that there is not a lot of skin color a novice copic colorer like me has to shade. Even I know I could color the face and hands without messing it up. I love all the detail on the stockings, especially on Gracie and the cat is adorable. The broom with the flourishes underneath was such a smart idea. I love them both. This will be a great challenge to color for me! Gotta keep learning new things.
ReplyDeleteFabulous sets!! Great samples!!
ReplyDeleteHow great! I can't say which witch I like better!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Ute
I adore them both, Claire ~ The distinctive style is what pulls me in with all of your designs, and these are certainly special!! I can't wait to see the complete sets and have them here to play with ~ and hope they'll have friends in the future, too!
ReplyDeleteThis would be another great little image to colour! Love this Vintage style so much!
ReplyDeleteClaire, these are beautiful! I love their vintage feel. I look forward to seeing the whole sets.
ReplyDeleteAnother sweetie--but of course I knew she would be! Love the kitty too. You are so amazing, Claire! Adore these images and your fabby coloring. I'm always looking for images so I can use my Copics so these are perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I think I am totally hooked now to WMS! I don't have any stamps in that style - I didn't think that vintage Halloween was my thing, but oh, how wrong I was!
ReplyDeleteWe don't really celebrate Halloween in Sweden, but that has never been any reason for me not to get tons of Halloween stamps. I LOVE the automn and when I was a kid me and my cousins loved the late automn. We had a game where one of us would run around a house in a total darkness. The rest of the cousins were running in the opposite direction meeting behind the house pretending to be were wolves. We half scared each other's mind out! I still remember the thrill being the one running alone... :D
I didn't even completely notice the cat was ginger until you pointed it out - so I think it worked perfectly!! I LOVE the vintage appeal of these images; as I said yesterday, I love that they are a break from your typical halloween stamps! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the style of both girls -- you've hit the 20s look just right! And thanks for the ginger cat -- we have one, and his first Halloween will be this year!
ReplyDeleteGosh Claire!! First of all I want to tell you that your cards are both stunning! I thought Cicely card was amazing and then I see Gracie and I'm like WOW!!!! I love the embossed swirls - they are magical and at the same time remind me of the wind blowing leaves around in the fall. You have these two nailed from the leggings with the little dotted seam on Gracie to the striped leggins on Cicely- the fonts are perfect, and I swear your girls have the same hairdoo I did when I was little!!! I love them!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet little girls with such cute names! I woud love to see these girls and some of their friends celebrating the Christmas holidays. Hopin', hopin' hopin'! .Love the Spellbinder label too
ReplyDeleteI'm in love, Claire. these are gorgeous! I love the crispness of the fall.
ReplyDeleteI love the WMS style girls. Those are some great stockings they have on! I love seeing what you will come up with next both stamps and projects. Thank you for the chance to win these lovely ladies!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards, and I love all your details on each! Cicely and Gracie are magical!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite card-making holiday.... love the fall colors and all of the fun images! Can't wait to see more!

Great colouring Claire! Also my order arrived (finally!) yesterday - thanks - in the mail, so will be using it asap! Love the girlies - can't wait to see who else is in the family, or are these two going to be adventuring?
ReplyDeleteI am SO excited that you are going to bring us even more of your vintage girls for different occasions! I have carefully saved many of my Mum's childhood books (printed in the 20's) because we both love the art in them and the way kids were illustrated then. "Modern" in a vintage sense (like the 20's decade itself). And they're not only lovely for colouring (as you've shown)but would also be stunning in crisp black on a solid backdrop!
ReplyDeleteOk love these stamp sets! They are so adorable! What's so ironic is that I don't really celebrate Halloween very much, but I sooo love Halloween stamps! I have quite a few, which is to say a lot, of Halloween stamps so in order to validate my purchases to my hubby I started sending out Halloween cards a few years ago. These two girls would make a great addition to my collection! :) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteYou are one talented designer. Your artwork is only topped by your elegant fontwork which is only topped bu your creativity. You are so nice to share your gift with is us.
ReplyDeleteOh Claire, I swooned when I saw Cicely and Gracie. They are the most graceful, detailed, vintage Halloween figures I've ever seen in a stamp set. And your cards are delightful too. I keep returning and note more little extras each time.
ReplyDeleteOk, I am drooling over here! Wow, absolutely FABulous! Can't wait to get my hands on these.
ReplyDeleteCicely and Gracie are awesome!! I love Halloween and all the colors that celebrate it! I have 1 of your Halloween sets but would LOVE some more!
