ED - erm.... I got the name wrong...lol, I go through so many draft names for my sets that sometimes I get a little muddled...the store name for this set will be Cameo Creations. - I have changed in this post so it now reads correctly...oopsie...
...ahem... Good afternoon! Welcome to the beginning of the July 2011 release of clear stamps at Waltzingmouse Stamps. My first sample today showcases two of our 8 new sets releasing on Friday!
The majority of stamps used in this card come from a small 6x4 set called Cameo Creations, the sentiment is from Cameo to Go, more on that set later.
Cameo Maker comprises 12 different stamps, featuring silhouettes of 4 types - adult male (nope, it's not J.F Kennedy, but I can see why you would ask...) adult female (my elder daughter, no, really! - I drew these based on my family profiles, with the exception of the guy, because Des thought it was just a step too far for him to be immortalised in photopolymer) junior male (my little dude) and junior female (my little tiny girl).
I added some vintage necklines to the two junior silhouettes, I thought they looked rather charming.
The people silhouettes make up a 'family' of sorts and are scaled so that the adult silhouettes can be used with the junior silhouettes on the same project and look in proportion together. I included two extra smaller adult silhouettes for extra design potential, and i used the smaller adult silhouettes here on this card, together with the juniors to create a background pattern.
You can see how I used the oval frames to create a pattern. I then filled the ovals with people and added the little cross piece stamp in between the ovals - I absolutely adore this pattern. This is what I like to do best, I love to stamp patterns. I used Vintage cream ink (PTI on Gina K kraft cardstock)
Cameo Creations is very much a set to be played with, a little something delightful for when you have time to make some pretty focal points for your cards, or some pretty background stamping. The Cameo To Go set, is more of a capsule set - containing finished cameos, one decorative surround and some sentiments, the idea was that you could have a cameo focal point and sentiment ready to go in a flash.
I love how these little silhouettes look, the combination of white or cream on kraft is a favourite and the simple wreath styling in this colourway is very Gustavian to me, when I worked as an interior designer, I was very attracted to Swedish style, I never really grew out of it!
The smaller frames in the Cameo Creations set also work well in the oval tag die from the Ribbon tags trio 2 set from Spellbinders. See the pic at the end for details. The sentiment is one of 7 sentiments in the Cameo To Go set.
Below, you can see how I used the pointy end of the dew drop style ink pad (memento) to 'colour' the embossed dots around the tag, I did this with the die still in place.
Did you manage to see the ladies today, they are previewing our new sets also! if you didn't here's the list:
