...last days of 2010

I hope 2010 was good to you but I hope 2011 will be better! The last few days of 2010 have been even busier and crazier than the rest of the year if possible, and so I have only had 5 mins this evening to think about what I hope 2011 will bring!

Every year I make resolutions as many of us do, and I think it's time I stopped the charade! I usually line up all of the usual suspects such as "more exercise", "cooking from scratch" etc, etc and solemnly declare myself committed to the plan, which normally falls wide apart in the first few days.

Truth is, I have long been a skeptic of the planning process. I have friends who buy Christmas gifts in the January sales for next year, I know people who have their 2011 summer holidays already bought and paid for - good luck to them I say, but it's not my way.

Call me superstitious, call me unprepared, call me whatever, but I just cannot bring myself to do these things. When I attempt to plan such things I feel like I am taking things for granted, that's just how my brain works, it's no reflection on folks who have their plans laid already.

Truth is, I don't want to know what's coming, I don't want to see far into the future. I just want to look into my wee folks eyes this evening as I tuck them into bed, and hold onto that smile. It's enough.

So, I have no idea what's coming to Waltzingmouse Stamps this year!! I have loads of ideas and I have set some stuff in motion, but I don't hold hard and fast to any plan of action, I want to throw a few sparklers in the pot and see what happens! I will set a course, but I am happy to go with the flow if I find that it's more interesting! I hope you can come along at least some of the way. I don't think it will be a boring business trip ... 'cos I'm not really a business woman ... LOL! I'm a stamper!

Good luck and God Bless you and yours in 2011!

  1. I totally feel the same way! I hate to plan too far ahead. If something happens and disrupts the plans then I am dissapointed. This way always works for me.
Can't wait to see oyur new stamps. I really love the frame stamps for the spellbinders dies. :)

  2. I'm with you Claire. Planning ahead is not in my nature. I love taking things one day at a time and see what unfolds. And as far as I can see Waltzingmouse if pretty amazing so far so I look forward to seeing what unfolds for 2011. Heres to the future and the wonderful adventure it brings.

  3. Bless you Claire. I love your attitude about living in the moment, for the truth is that we only have the here and now, so to be fully present is enjoying the gift you have been given.

Happy New Year, my dear friend.

  4. Happy New Year to you and your family, Claire. I'll happily be along for the WMS ride in 2011. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

  5. Happy New Year to you, Claire! I hope 2011 brings joy & excitement for you & your family.
Stay warm! I wish I could send you some of our Texas sunshine.

  6. Wishing you a very happy - unpreplanned New Year Claire! I'm with you - I had it all planned out many years ago and then a wrench was thrown into the midst - now I go more with the flow and it works out just fine!

  7. Here, here to 2011. I think it is going to be a great one!! I am more of a spur of the moment kind of gal too.

  8. Happy New Year to you and your Family Claire! I can't wait to see what goodies you have lined up for us mouse fans next year! I had a little play with my new WMS that Santa left me yesterday, I was such a happy bunny on xmas day! Hugs Pauline xx

  9. Claire - that's a lovely post. I'm like many people with the resolutions, and there's a lot to be said for the way you feel about it!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy and Healthy 2011!

  10. Hi Claire - you have such a lovely way with words and when any of us look into the faces of those we love - need we say more? I for one am in on the journey with you (and now so is my daughter)thank you for helping us share a new passion together. Many blessings to you and your family for 2011 and I'm with you - best not to know what's coming but to rise up and meet it with faith, family and thankfulness - good or bad - it's all good. New Year Blessings. Suezie & family OXOXOXO

  11. Good for you! I like your philosophy.

  12. Hi dear Claire!

Thank you for sharing your story and I do think your way of working with Waltzing Mouse makes it even more exciting for us! So, I'm very curious what the new Waltzing Mouse year will bring us, we'll see when it's there and I'm quite sure most of us will love to join you for the ride, I know I do!
All the best to you, dear Claire, wishing you a wonderful party tonight and an amazing and creative 2011!!

    Hugs, Wendy

  13. YES! YES! I'm the same ... just try to live each day ...take nothing for granted ... don't look forward to anything ... I always say that if I had wanted a planned life I'd have joined the military ... Ahhh! so good to know I'm not alone ...
Happy New Year to you and yours ...

  14. Happy New Year to you my dear Claire and I am so glad that I am along for the ride ;)!

  15. Now that's my kinda outlook on life too! What will be, will be and what won't, won't!
Looking forward to seeing what beauties you have in 2011. Even if you're not exactly sure yourself one thing you can be sure of is that they'll be popular!
Happy New Year! Here's to living for the moment! Cheers!

  16. What do I wish you for 2011...well first of all I wish for no more frost....then I wish you a home filled with warmth and no water falling from the ceiling and then I wish you clean drinking water and lots of water to wash your face and teeth...sorry folks, most of this will be lost on you but not Claire....seriously have a wonderful 2011...good health and happiness to you and yours.

  17. People call me a procrastinator, but maybe I am just like you. Live in the moment! Take one day at a time! Enjoy the little things! Now if only my bosses would adopt this attitude when they say that one of my reports is late. Wouldn't want to tell them something like "I HAD to stamp this card first BEFORE the report, to be eligible for a stamping contest" hee! Happy New Year, Claire! You could keep everything the same as last year at WMS and I would be happy as a clam!

  18. Best of luck to you and yours as well Claire!! I hope it is a happy and healthy new year for you and your family. Whatever you have planned, I am happy you share the ride with us. I hope your friend in the Dec. 21st is doing better.

  19. Happy New Year Claire.....I have the same cautious approach to New Year promises!!! My dad used to say
    "Man proposes, God disposes"!
I love the last line of your post.....and think that in part it explains your success.....looking forward to a Waltzingmouse 2011!

  20. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family Claire from another non planner!

  21. Hi Claire its the best thing you can do ..go with the flow..other wise you are struggling all the time and feeling you run behind things instead of with.
Nothing more important than to enjoy having your kids around you ....before you know they are grown up.
All my very best wishes to you and your family for 2011!

  22. Happy New Year Claire! Looking forward to what you have on your drawing board for 2011 :) So honored to be a part of your DT :)

  23. En français on dit : "En mai fais ce qu'il te plait" mais toi, Claire, tu as transformé cet adage et c'est devenu : Toute l'année je fais ce qu'il me plait !" :-D

In French we say : "In May, do what you want." But you, Claire, you have changed this saying by "All over the year I do what I want" ahahhah, and you are right !

I will be with you in 2011 again. And I am so happy as since I know your stamps, more and more Frenchies uses its too.

Have a very happy year in 2011.

    Bonne Année 2011.

ps : what I want for 2011 ? more WMS stamps in French ahhahahaha !!!

  24. Happy New Year, Claire! I can't wait to see what 2011 will bring for WMS!

  25. A Very Happy New Year to you and yours.
I am much like you. I think of it as some plan their lives and some live theirs. I live mine, often with little to no plan. Hey! It works for me.

  26. Ahh, Claire - I agree! I try to plan mostly to slow down and not rush through each day. I plan to be flexible and willing to change my plans. I plan to be ahead of schedule to allow for the unexpected. But those are not resolutions and I've long ago given up on making promises to myself that I don't keep. I will just do my best and when I fail, then the next day is a new beginning. Just like 2011 is a new beginning.

    Happy New Year!!

  27. Claire, I love this cozy picture! It's been quite cold here, and I could use some warming up by the fire! Hope you all had a terrific holiday and are enjoying some quiet time together. I'm truly looking forward to 2011 with WMS!

  28. a tad late on my part to comment here - but i must say whatever you did in 2010, keep it going in 2011. I like your approach of keeping your ears and eyes open for opportunities, ideas or inspiration that may come along. life has an interesting way of surprising us, doesn't it?

Since I have created such an attachment to WMS, i'll be sticking around to see how 2011 turns out :) And I am truly excited for you and your darling DT and Mischief Makers!

    many loves & hugs!

Thanks for taking the time to comment, :) I read them all and I appreciate you taking time to visit!
