I received some more fantastic stencils from
Country Stencils the other week and only got the chance to actually use one yesterday - I love this Shaker, Tree of Life stencil - it's the smaller one in case you need to get one.
My favourite thing to do with these stencils is to 'print' with them using my cuttlebug.
See how here.
I used Versacolour Bamboo ink to print the main image and then added some glossy red apples in the form of page pebbles!! they look so cool!
Beverly of Precious Scraps has a whole range of these at the moment - I used pebbles from the Berrylicious set - they come in a fantastic wee bottle - loads of them!! BTW - Bev has just posted more photos of new stock just in - pop over to
take a peek, don't forget to click on the picture to make them bigger!!
Just a note about inks - I find I am increasingly using the Tsukineko Versacolour inks - they seem to work beautifully for everything. Not quite ready to ditch the Palette yet, who knows when I might need to stamp some more fabric! Anyone else have a favourite brand of ink?
Hope it tickles!
OOh card deets: The text stamp (in Versamark) is from PTI Background basics - Text style. Sentiment from Tea for Two - also PTI. Card base is Ripe Avocado and the little green spotty paper is actually wrapping from a PTI stamp set - sorry, don't remember which one. I did stamp a little flourish (fancy flourishes - PTI) on it and you can just see it peeping over the top. The ribbon is a piece of Pure poppy saddle stitch ribbon folded in half lengthways and stitched closed.
Such an adorable card! I must go check out those pebbles....hugs, Michelle
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Claire. I love how you are able to come up with your sketch designs in such a way to really highlight your focal points. Awesome job as always!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful card Claire. I also like the inks you mention,I use the Tsueniko dew drops chalk inks. I love chalk inks... I had gotten away from them when PTI into'd their match colors but I find myself going back because its so much easier to get a good image with the chalk ink, especially on solid stamps.
ReplyDeleteyour cards are just beautiful! Love your stamps, off now to check your store out!

This is super Claire! I love the red dew drops - and that tree is wonderful! great colors and design!
ReplyDeleteI use the PTI inks mostly - they are nice and juicy and cover well - but I use Memento Tuxedo black ink (Tsukeniko SP?) for black as it doesn't run when I color with copics!
Lovely card Claire! It's so cheery and bright. Those apples look so cool! I sent you an email. It looks like I need to try some chalk inks!!! :)
ReplyDeleteFAB card, Claire! I love those apples, and the green just pops!
ReplyDeleteOMgoodness, this is so beautiful!! Love the stencil, the colors, the red page pebbles and the design. I've also used the pretty wrap they put around the PTI stamps - they're just too pretty to throw away :)
ReplyDeletelink away hun!

ReplyDeleteThis is another fantastic card. I love the dew drops as apples. When is Country Stencils going to recognize your talent, and love for their product, and ask you to be part of a design team?!?
ReplyDeleteOh! I live this one, the wee apples r so cool :)
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! I agree about the ink. . .There's nothing like the consistent coverage of the pigment inks, is there? Beautiful work as usual - keep it coming, please! :-)
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Claire!! The colors just pop and I love the white tree - so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! Love it! So chic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for your kind words! =)
Hugs, SannaS
I love this Claire!! You are so creative using the pebbles for the apples. Country Stencils does love having you design cards. You have such a unique way of using them. I love your stamps! I finally got my blog started. You'll have to take a look.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your tutorials and downloads!!! I found your blog through Inspirational earlier this evening and since then I´ve been hooked! My printer cries for mercy as it has run out of ink! The family has fallen asleep without me noticing ...
ReplyDeleteThis is a blog I will have as a favorite from now on. I love all the "paper engineering" you make. I love to make houses and towers out of paper, and you have given me so much new inspiration. There will be quite a few tower boxes made here now !
Thank again!
