ED- would love to give a supplier for the buttons but they've been in my button jar forever!! Lol - random cut-offs from a worn out baby cardigan no doubt.
Been itching to do one of
Dawn's colour challenges - bummed that I missed out on the first one!!
Had a spare hour this morning - and yes it does take me an hour to make a simple card like this - time is not my buddy, I am sooooo sloooowwwwwwww... Anyhow love it when I find things that unexpectedly match!! like buttons!! Didn't have the exact colours mentioned, so I used PTI's chocolate, Ocean tides, Spring moss and white ink. Stamps are from Dawns Damask of course!! Lol. (PTI)
Hope it tickles!
PS. I really, really want an edge distresser, anyone reccommend a goodie?? ta.
Gorgeous Claire!! Love those fabulous buttons, and how they really pop against the chocolate! WELL put together :) love how the sentiment is highlighted as well :)
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! Love your colors and the use of the buttons!!!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog thru a post by Sandi MacIver, and am so glad I did! You have amazing work. Thanks for sharing!!!
RE edge distresser, I really love the one by stampin'up! Do you have access to that?
Thanks again for sharing your art!
Edge distressing? Your fingernail, a cheap emery board, sandpaper! You don't need a tool!
ReplyDeleteNice card... but I don't think I have seen a "not" nice card from you. I'm glad to know that it takes you an hour to make a "simple" card-- I always wonder why I stamp for 3hrs hours and have 2-3 cards at the end of that time. Sometimes it's very frustrating!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I especially love the little surprise of having the different coloured button facing the different way. It stands out nicely :)
ReplyDeleteLove the damask! The "tag" is a clever idea, too!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those buttons!! Where did you get them?? Love em'
ReplyDeleteFabulous girl! The buttons are perfect and of course you so good good at your backgrounds...love it...all of it!
ReplyDeleteEdger: I sometimes use an old steak knife...I wrap the knife with some duct tape so the knife is safe from slips...works like a charm! well at least for me anyway.
very nice! love those buttons and your use of the colors - wonderful damask bg stamping!
ReplyDeleteLove this Clare - the buttons are very cute!

Really cool button work... ha! And I love the way you cut the sentiment and trimmed it with the other two colors. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you labour along like the rest of us with your designs. It was so totally worth it. Love the way you did you buttons with the one next to the sentiment angled a different way. :) It's a lovely card!
ReplyDeleteSimply elegant! Love the damask stamp and the buttons together. Thank you for visiting me I am love your work and always check out your blog. Smiles Catherine
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love those buttons!
ReplyDeleteFabulous, as your creations ALWAYS are, Claire -- LOVE this!!! I'm also soooo happy to hear you say it take you more than an hour, as you're sooooo slow, because I am too -- now if my cards could only rival yours! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the pops of teal and celery against the brown.
ReplyDeleteTHanks for popping by my blog too!
Wonderful card. All the elements come together so nicely. The buttons are great too (love how one of them is turned!).
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love the buttons!
ReplyDeleteI love your take on this color challenge! I personally like the distressor from CTMH. It is a larger diameter than stampin up's and is easier to hang onto. I have both, and bought the ctmh one to replace the su! one because it was a pain to hold onto.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your card, Love your templates, LOVE your site. I am so glad I stumbled upon you. Thanks Thanks It takes me at least an hour to do a simple card too.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Claire! Love those buttons.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh Claire this is amazing!! Now THAT is how to put a color challenge card together.
ReplyDeleteThe flower you asked me about on my card is by Prima. From some old supplies I never used up. See you at Dawn's next color challenge!!
Gorgeous Claire!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Absolutely lovely buttons.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! LOVE the colors and those buttons are perfect! I have a Heidi Swapp distresser and it does the job! :)
