...it was a sketch! Mojo Monday wk 80

I always seem to have too many ideas in my head that I want to get out and so I had never got around to doing a sketch layout yet!! Shame! there are some fabulous ones out there (as I'm sure you all know!) It was a little treat I always said I'd do once I got my stuff out of the way!! well last night I just put it on hold and dove (is that a word?) in.

I started with the fabulous Mojo Monday sketch - I love looking at these and I love Julee Tilman's work, who doesn't!!

The first card I made I was not happy with (see it below) - it fulfilled the requirements but it wasn't 'me', so I set about making the one you see above - used some leftover pattern from the bloghop and changed it to a square and I have to say I really like it - decided to go 'down' instead of up for the circly bit. Do you think she'll mind?

Anyhow, I had fun. Which I think is the aim of the game.

Stamps are letters from the Ambassador monogram set and Beautiful Blooms! PTI. Card is Vintage Cream and Ocean tides. PTI. Ink is Ocean Tides, PTI and Antique Linen, Ranger distress, my current fave combo.

Bottom card is the Alli Miles Wise Owls from PTI (one of my very fave sets ever) and some Basic Grey paper. Ink is Plum pudding - PTI and the poor wee sick green owl is paper pieced!! Lol.

Hope it tickles.

I love both cards but the one that was more 'you' is totally amazing. makes me ashamed to even enter mine LOL. I love how you stayed true to the sketch but interpreted it so differently.
Lovely blog you have here.
I miss the UKs green! I was born on the Isle of Wight and now live in Iowa (USA)....and it's not so green here.

I cannot believe you haven't done any sketches yet - and you are correct - there are tons of them out there! It's so hard to decide which one you want to pick!!

I love your 2nd card (1st shown) - and you are right it looks more like 'Claire' then the other one - but both are lovely! I really like your stamped bg and colors - great job on these!

I love your second take on the Mojo Monday card - and I agree - the square really suits it well. Really love the way you made a cut out for the circle. Just classy all around!
