It's been a while since I shared any pics of Ireland, this is largely because it's been a while since I've seen any of Ireland...
We had been in the habit of getting out most weekends for a little drive, and the very odd weekend we went a little further and stayed over. We're hoping to resume that little pass time this summer. Ireland has something interesting in every corner and I'd like to see it all before I'm done. I don't consider this greedy at all, after all Ireland is only a wee small island!
One of the last places we visited was Trim. I love castles and so when I do get out I tend to aim for ancient stones, my family are all very accommodating I have to say...
Trim Castle is in County Meath, if you are having a wander through the web, you can follow this link, to find out a little more about it...
You can go all the way up to the battlements via these bridges and the original stone stairwells, that is if you are very brave. I've no head for heights and I'm quite happy to imagine the view, indeed next time you are on a guided tour of anything over one story tall, I'll be the lady on her knees in the corner clutching the rail for dear life...
Store News
Price Increase...
We have big, and I do mean BIG plans for Waltzingmouse Stamps this year, and so we're doing a little housekeeping this weekend on the store. The price increase that was meant to happen in February will be taking place over the weekend, probably beginning on Sunday. Changes will take place throughout the day, we now have over 100 stamp sets on our store and so it may take me some time to update everything. All my manufacturing costs went up in January and I've run out of excuses for the accountant lady...so the dreaded deed must now occur. Please note anyone ordering back-ordered items or pre-order items before the price increase begins on Sunday will of course still receive their items at the old price.
Shipping Changes...
We are overhauling the shipping set-up also. We have to get the shipping system ready for a HUGE exciting addition and so changes to the shipping rates will occur at the weekend also. Royal Mail increased their prices in April also and that will have an effect on our free shipping threshold.Again anyone placing an order before Sunday will have their goodies shipped at the current rates.
Well, that's my weekend spoken for, what are you up to?
Thanks for the heads-up! Got my cart-full ordered.
ReplyDeleteWhen you write these posts, they make me long to visit Britain again! I haven't been to Ireland (yet), but my family is Scottish, and I am like you - I LOVE the ancient buildings and castles. Incredible history - it makes me notice just how young Canada is!
ReplyDeleteI love that you've shared the photo's of Ireland once again: I enjoy them! It looks like such a lovely place: love those old stone castles! And I love how you describe your fear of heights: you should link to your post of the experience on the feris wheel so the newer readers can get a feel for what you are REALLY talking about :-P. As I said before, if you ever get tired of designing stamps, you should become a writer; you have such an entertaining way of saying things! Hugs, :-)
ReplyDeleteI've seen quite a lot of Ireland but ive never been to Co. Meath. I love castles but from the ground! There are still lots of places i'd like to see. My favourite bit has to be the west coast...Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and I love Donegal too. Must try and get back soon!
ReplyDeleteYour changes sound exciting...when will you tell us more?
When we come back to the UK, we are going to visit Ireland - it's only a short hop, but we've not made it yet. Thanks for sharing your photos - they are fab!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your news!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful island with us, Claire! I'll get there when my kids are older, but for now am exploring my own corner of the world.

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the heads up on the store updates - just the excuse I needed to place an order. LOL. Can't wait to hear what the BIG news is!

ReplyDeleteHugs Rizwana xx
Gorgeous photos Claire! I'm excited about your new addition and I can't wait to learn more about it. :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm..thanks for the info about Trim...imagine, never heard of that castle so would love to visit, especially with gchildren who would love all those enticing bridges etc.
ReplyDeleteWell, glad to know we are in for BIG things....yes, prices everywhere are rising rapidly, don't know how you've kept them down so long. Postage rates too have just gone out of the roof...so not surprised you have to up them too. Now, I've been putting off and being indecisive for so long I'm off to do some shopping before that rise clicks in. Do hope you get a good holiday this year given what all has gone on...you deserve it.
Prices rising everywhere - don't worry! Postage rising - don't worry! Your firm is not the only one experiencing rises.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Trim castle so would love to visit there...thanks for that information.
Off to buy something before the needed rise...been too indecisive for too long. Hope you get a good holiday this year, it's been a long year for you.
