ED - The card I use is this stuff, I have found it in UK, not sure if it's available in US, but I think these guys ship...you can get it in white or cream, it has one textured side and one fairly smooth side, it's neat stuff but quite porous, so stamping is not as crisp as it would be on say, a Gina K white or a PTI card. Ta for asking!
Good morning/afternnoon/Evening!!
I am taking part in the Friends of WMS blog waltz today, anybody can play along, you simply make a card loosely connected to this months theme of Autumn/Harvest and link it on our WMS forum so's we can pop over and see!
Here is the link thread, we also run a wee competition, you can
read about it here. You do need to be registered on the forum to play, but that's only so's we can all chat about it on the forum too, and it's easy to register.
For my card today, I broke out the Teeny Trees set, I seem to have had so little time to stamp recently and I wanted something that was going to be quick!!
I love the the little linked leaf circles, and I paired them with the tallest tree trunk/branch image. I used Distress Inks and blended them on the stamp using the rock and roll tecknique, you ink up in one colour and then roll the edges of the stamp in another colour, couldn't be simpler!
Cut the tree panel out with a rectangular Spellbinders Die template. Sponged exuberantly with Shabby Shutters distress ink and cut a slightl larger mat, which I sponged with crushed olive.
My card base is a 6x4.5 inch base of cream cardstock, stamped with the diamond trellis from Pic-Nic patterns. Stamped and sponged with Antique Linen, what else? LOL.
Right! I'm going to try to get a little waltzing in today, what are you up to??
Hope it tickles!
this is so pretty, Claire. love the pretty fall colors on the tree leaves!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Claire, love your sponging and the layers.
ReplyDeleteOh so glad you are waltzing, Claire! Love the way you did the tree in all of the colors, and the little tilted nestie frame is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWow this is one very popular set!!! I've been admiring all the cards made with Teeny Trees on this waltz.
ReplyDeleteIt's on my wish list now!
Lovely card love the hammered card stock you've used and the cute little bow is perfect.
I love the multicolour leaves and the textured card you used for stamping.
ReplyDeleteLove how you made the tree with the circles - and the bird is just the cram in the cake! Lovely!!
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful Teeny Trees creations! This stamp set gets the award for most mileage!! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Claire - love all that distressing and the hammer card is such a good texture and yes, you do have to be careful when stamping....a little extra pressure is necessary. Just wish I was participating but we came home from hols with dreadful colds and indeed are 'under the Doctor' - I'm sure the folks across the pond will not understand that one LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to waltzing around tonight, metaphorically speaking as I don't have the energy to really waltz!!
Super cute card Claire! Love the pretty colors & that teeny tree with the lil' bird is precious! Thanks so much for designing all these fabulous stamps for us to create with! :)

Love the bg stamping and your pretty circles tree Claire! that paper is super!
ReplyDeletebeautiful card and I really like how you did the color behind the image.
ReplyDeletevery pretty. The texture of your cardstock reminds me a bit of water color paper (but it's obviously textured on both sides, not smooth on one.)
ReplyDeleteClaire, fab card - love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat card and I like the rock and roll on the circles.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty! I definitely need to get that trees set - too cute!
ReplyDeleteI had wondered about that paper you use all the time. I love the texture of it. It looks like it stamps very well to me.
ReplyDeleteYour little trees set is the sweetest Caire. Love the green ink too. :)
