June WMS Blog Waltz

Hello and welcome to the June Friends of WMS Blog Waltz! I love blog waltz...have I told you? And yup! I'm messing with Lisa's carefully planed schedule and sneaking in early! LOL, I cannot wait! lol, Sorry Lisa (giggle)! I think it says somewhere that this thing kicks off at around 3pm but I'm itching to get my post up! lol!

Today's theme is masculine cards, and naturally many folks will be making Father's day cards and such. I haven't, as both my dearest Dad and my lovely Father-in-Law have both gone 'on ahead' and quite honestly I haven't the heart for it! But nope I am not downhearted about it I just prefer not to dwell on it!

So I made a card for my baby brother instead (he's had at least one significant birthday so 'baby' is maybe a little exaggeration)! I'm thinking he could do with a little word of encouragement just now and so I made this wee card with a sentiment that my Dad often used to say, It was his version of "Into every life a little rain must fall..." and I fondly remember it said throughout my youth, always accompanied with a sympathetic smile. Oh look...somebody made it into a stamp...wink!!LOL

I've made plaid clouds!! Lately plaid = man in my house. The thing is, I am loving my plaid maker stamps from the Pic-nic patterns set and so I've been dragging them out to play lots lately!
I just stamped up a plaid and then cut out the clouds freehand.

I'm going to do a couple of posts on background patterns soon, a few folks have been asking for tip on using background patterns and lining up stamps etc, so hopefully that'll be in the next day or two.

Bit of stitching...sponging etc...

Do you see the sunshine peeping out from behind the clouds? The promise of better times? LOL, well all I did was punch a circle from a post it note and use it as a mask. I stamped in the 'hole' with the large plaid maker stamp (Pic-Nic patterns) inked up in that new Honey coloured distress ink, and then a little sponging to give a wee halo effect! I wanted my sun to be a plaid style sun to match my plaid clouds!! easy peasy!

and the rain...did you spot the rain...??? LOL!! Do you like it?

Right, on with the waltz,

If you haven't been to a WMS blog waltz before here's how we run things:

I have opened two threads in the playroom of the WMS Forum HERE.

If you are not already a member you will need to register but it takes seconds and we don't ask any awkward questions!

Folks who are participating in our waltz leave their links to their projects in the June 17th Blog waltz Link List Here.

Folks who are just chatting and enjoying the inspiration may post any comments here in the chat thread.

The competitions
The viewers prize
We are running a couple of little competitions for our waltz, The DT ladies and I have hidden little images of a Chinese Lantern throughout our posts. Here is what they look like, but remember, they could be in other colours or even transparent!! We're a bit sneaky like that! LOL.

The little lantern is a sneak peek at one of the SIX new sets we will be releasing on July 1st!! Can't wait!!

Count the complete number of lanterns you find and post your tally in the chat thread here.

A random winner will be chosen from among the correct answers!! the winner will scoop a free stamp set!

The participants prize
One random participant in our blog waltz will be chosen from the link list to scoop a free stamp set of their choice!! It's that easy, all you have to do is take part!

We'll draw the winners on Saturday at 11:59 PM Eastern and announce them in the forum on Sunday.

The list will not close until tomorrow so there might still be time for you to make a card and join in!!... our theme today is masculine cards and we'd love to see your WMStamps!!

Have fun!!

I was waiting to get your stamps so I could finish both the Father's Day cards I've made this year ... and then couldn't stop inking them up, so I've made wrapping paper and tags with them too ... soooo glad I received my first WM stamps order last week!!
