...Vintiquing

Below, or somewhere very like it, is where I hope to be on Sunday. It'll be Mother's Day here in UK and I'm going to try and exercise my privilege and get out and do a little vintiquing. For once I actually have a reason to go shopping, I'm having a Vintage Tea party soon for a special little lady and I'm looking for props, mismatched vintage tea cups, that sort of thing. I managed to get this lovely trio above for just a few bob, but I'm going to have to pick up a few more if I want to really carry the theme off.

In reality I'll be hitting the charity shops, it's all very well having aspirations towards a Champagne lifestyle but when you are on a lemonade budget, you kinda have to cut your cloth accordingly... there will be lots of homemade party props... if I can remember to photograph them, I'll pop them up here -

So, what are your plans for the weekend? Whatever you are doing, hope it's fabby.

  1. So much fun. Your charity shops are so much more interesting, if only because you have more antique selection. We call anything over 20 years old "antique" here in Canada. A house that's 50 years old can get "heritage" status. DH, from England, finds this uproariously funny.

  3. Those are drop-dead gorgeous!!! I'd love to go antiquing in Ireland: our "old" here is only about 100-150 yrs old! The really old stuff here is imported from Europe! :-) Hope you have a FABBY day and make some great finds!! Happy Mother's Day to you!!! Hugs, H

  6. It is rare to find such goodies in charity shops (thrift stores) in my area of the world. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the current economy has dropped the price of these kinds of things in the antique shops so I may just have to try to find a few more so my granddaughter can have a fancy tea party. Love the idea!

  7. I LOVE to go Antiquing!! It's one of my favorite things to do, but I dare not go often, or I will spend a ton of money and after all, I'm a stamp and die-0-holic, which usually takes presidence. LOL I did splurge and did some shopping for Valentine's and ended up with some sweet things to tuck in among things I already had. It's just so much fun to decorate for special occasions.

Your tea cups are lovely! I know your party will be wonderful, sweet and fun. My little grand baby, Millie (who is 2 and a half), loves "Tea Party" and so do I (Me...Nana). It makes us happy.
