So I'm up to my neck in admin after the release on Friday and I had no Monday morning make for you...so how about a Monday evening mooch around one of my favourite places to shop and browse in Belfast - Sawyers. It's been around since the 1890's - you can see the original shopfront below - this I pinched from their site, which you can visit here. I hope they don't mind...don't think they will...lol
It's an absolute gem of a place and I don't think there is anywhere else like it in the North here...full to the brim with all sorts of interesting goodies - I hadn't been in Sawyers in a little while and I called in last week for some cheese, I could spend hours browsing the goodies here, they even have some goodies from USA - Reese's peanot cups etc, that sort of thing. You could easily spend an hour or two in here just looking!
While I was there I was eyeing up the Easter goodies and I hope to have a little neat idea for you tomorrow - something simple and easy to make. Gotta pop off and send out more shipping notes, chat to you tomorrow hopefully
I LOVE Sawyers, Claire! Kieran is such a character! I could browse in there forever, and I defy anyone to walk in there without buying something tasty - just impossible! My dad came out with a little container of pickled baby squid! Yuk!

I would love to have something like this versus the big impersonal box stores that litter the US...
I remember stores like this from when I was a kid...
and miss them so much.
It speaks of days gone past...
days I wish my kids could know.
Love the old world feel of this store, how fun to shop there.

ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely! I ADORE Reece's Peanut Butter Cups - way too much in fact. tesco sells the 3 packs 3 for £1.29! I get most put out when they don't have any on the shelves (they frequently sell out). It's one of only 2 American candies I love that we now get in the UK so I'm with you on the Reeces - all the way LOL!

ReplyDeleteYou look for our peanut butter cups and I look for your Bird's Custard. I used to be able to get it in a few stores here, not anymore. I did find it on amazon.com though. Then I happened upon your stamps. Dang I hate budgets!
