The Big Cheese of the Week

Good morning!

Thanks to you, we have had another week of amazing and inspiring projects uploaded to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Gallery! Thank you for your continued participation!

I'm switching things up a little this week, and I'm going to share our Big Cheese winner's project first. I was really wowed by this simple, yet stunning, creation from JJ Bolton.

This doily image from Dainty Doilies 2 is so elegant, and JJ has used it to create a card that almost resembles a delicate stained glass window! I love the subtle and selective additions of color and the rhinestone accents. Fantastic job, JJ! Your card will be added to the Big Cheese highlight album in the WMS Gallery. Send me an email and we will provide you with a discount code for $10 off (the price of a small set!!) your next Waltzingmouse Stamps purchase.

Now a few other favorites from this week.

I love Lana's sugary sweet style, and this Christmas card is no exception.

Soft colors, some sparkle, and a perfectly placed doily just ooze shabby chic. I love the snowflakes stamped on the sheet music. I always forget about layering patterns, but this is a great example of how super it can look! Lana created this card for the WMS Christmas Card Challenge - have you been playing along? Lynn comes up with a fabulous new challenge each month to help you bulk up your stash of holiday cards!

And finally, a card after my own background-loving heart, this patchwork pretty from Pauline Pollington.

For starters, this is a great card layout to add to your inspiration notebooks - it has lots of possibilities! Pauline created instant coordination by stamping her own patterned paper, and the stitching and distressing really add a cozy patchwork quilt feel.

Outstanding job, ladies! Would you like the opportunity to be chosen for the Big Cheese? Add your direct links (please!) for your newly uploaded projects here in the WMS Forum, a new thread starts every Monday! You've been amazing girls - keep those projects coming!

Have a great day!

The Big Cheese of the Week

Hi there!

It is Wednesday, so that means we are here to bring you this week's Big Cheese. Let's share a few special mentions for this week first.

I love this card Wendy ten Hove created for WMSC60.

What a great interpretation of the sketch, no? With the rolling hills and the trees that look like they've been touched by a warm sunset. The debossed clouds are a perfect finishing touch.

This next card from Laurie Jones is simple yet completely stunning!

I love the flowers stamped in yellow and left uncolored. I love the trendy color combination of yellow and gray (oh the ribbon!). And I love the look of white cardstock layered on white cardstock - this is a favorite technique of mine, too! The rounded corners helps to define the layers. Outstanding, Laurie!

And now on to this week's Big Cheese! I love seeing friends uploading for the first time, and this is no exception. Check out this amazing creation from Katie Muck!

It is a hatbox! And a card holder! Is that not the cutest? What attention to detail, too, with the stamped patterns, the shading to help define the shape, and the fancy bow? Such a creative project and so well executed, Katie! Check out the shot of the inside, too!

Congratulations, Katie! Send me an email and we will provide you with a discount code for your next Waltzingmouse Stamps purchase.

Katie's card will be added to the Big Cheese highlight album in the WMS Gallery. Would you like the opportunity to be chosen? Post your new upload links here, a new thread starts every Monday! You've been amazing girls - keep those projects coming!

Have a great day!

Blog Waltz Winners are Tea-riffic!

Hello – Lynn here to announce our winners from the August Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. I hope you enjoyed the Waltz.  The entries were Tea-riffic with such a wide variety of projects highlighting Waltzingmouse Stamps images and our love for tea and coffee.  If you missed the fun, you can still view a list of links to all the wonderful projects.  Just visit the Blog Waltz Forum Thread and you will find the list there.
We asked the ‘Waltzers’ to explain how they enjoyed their tea or coffee, and if they added anything to enhance the flavor.   You can read all of their responses right here.  We chose a random posted from this group, and that lucky winner is Karen who said,
Oh I love tea. It really is the only thing I drink (besides water). Normally it is iced tea, plain - no sugar or such, but I'll typically brew my quart with a flavor tea bag in with the normal stuff. I do like hot tea as well, but not in the summer! I do like a touch of honey in my hot tea.”
As promised, we also drew a random name from all those who participated in the Waltz.  Please say congratulations to Thelma.
Congratulations to you both. Please email Claire at claire.brennan1@ntlworld.com  and she will provide you with a code to enter at the Waltzingmouse Stamps store when you select your prize.  Please keep in mind that Claire has been on holiday for the past two weeks, so it may be a few days before your prizes are shipped.
We appreciate your participation and hope that you all enjoyed creating projects and waltzing through the amazing and inspiring projects. Mark your calendar for our next Waltz which will be September 17.

The Big Cheese of the Week

Gals, I'm so sorry I'm late. I'm away from home, doing trainings for work and am running ragged. But you're not here to hear about me! You're here to check out some eye candy!

Here are some uploads from this past week that caught our eye. First, is a Cameo Creations CASE from Cathy Weber.

Rich, yummy (fall!) colors, super fab background stamping, and a classically versatile layout. Great card, Cathy!

I love Renee Lynch's take on WMSC59.

Great way to turn the card sketch into a pocket! The patterned paper is awesome together and check out the little black pearls nestled in the crocheted lace! Love!

And our Big Cheese for this week, a showstopper from Elisabeth Larsson!

A classic! Pairing Vintage Ornaments with the backdrop of Festive Foliage, Elisabeth has created a gorgeous holiday card. I love the addition of the glitter on the branches and the perfectly-placed rhinestones. And that pop of purple again for Christmas! Maybe we can convince Lynn to make that one of the Christmas Card Challenges! Thank you for sharing your fantastic creation, Elisabeth!

Congratulations, Elisabeth! Send me an email and we will provide you with a discount code for your next Waltzingmouse Stamps purchase.

Elisabeth's card will be added to the Big Cheese highlight album in the WMS Gallery. Would you like the opportunity to be chosen? Post your new upload links here, a new thread starts every Monday! Can't wait to see your fantastic uploads!

August CASE Competition Winner Announced

On August 4th, we invited you to participate in a  CASE (Copy and Share Everything) Competition. We asked that you choose a project from any of the 4 days of the Stamp of Approval Parade (SOAP) held August 1-4th, and CASE a project from one of the Design Team member’s projects.  We are happy to announce that we have a winner. Today we are highlighting this great project made by:  Jeanne J.

Jeanne used Sarah's Day 2 SOAP project: as her CASE inspiration.  You can view Sarah's project here.

The various shades of brown and the accents of gold and black really bring out the beauty of the cameo focal piece and are very striking.  They layers and lace along with that gorgeous bow, makes this a card worthy of being CASED as well.  Thank you Jeanne for sharing your creativity with us.

And a special thank you to everyone who participated in the competition.  Your projects were amazingly creative and inventive. You can see ALL the competitors right  here.

The Big Cheese of the Week

Hi there!

I am here to bring you this week's Big Cheese. First, a few favorites from this week.

Did you see this super magic slider card that Amy Wanford made?

It sure does tickle, doesn't it? Who wants to try this out - I sure do!

Next is Lana, with this ahhh-mazing tag.

Tags are so much fun to make, and this one is stunning! The bit of black lace, the framed cameo, the pop of blue with the flourish! Love it, Lana!

And finally, our Big Cheese for this week... Jeanne Jachna with her outstanding Nutcracker card!

Here's what I love about this card: a non-traditional color scheme for Christmas (who would have thought pink and purple!), the stamped background (the swag image from Nutcracker Sweet is a favorite of mine), and not one - but two - big fat delicious bows!

Congratulations, Jeanne! Send me an email and we will provide you with a discount code for your next Waltzingmouse Stamps purchase.

Jeanne's card will be added to the Big Cheese highlight album in the WMS Gallery. Would you like the opportunity to be chosen? Post your new upload links here, a new thread starts every Monday!

The Big Cheese of the Week

We interrupt this regularly scheduled SOAP to bring you this week's Big Cheese. Fantastic job again this week, everyone.

Some projects of note, first. A lovely little number from Pauline Pollington:

With a fresh color combination and groovy graphic design, this card is simple yet oh-so-sophisticated. The big poofy bow and flower embellishment pushes it over the edge to pure deliciousness.

Next up is a fun summery card from Jeanne Jachna:

A fantastic birthday or graduation card - I love the mix of pink and yellow. Another big, lovely bow too!

And finally, our Big Cheese for this week. I fell in love with this beautiful Christmas card from Cassie K!

Cassie, I really don't know where to begin: the glittery stars, the flourish of rhinestones, or that incredible folded background peeking through the label window?!? Add me to your Christmas card list, because anyone would be lucky to receive this beauty! This is an amazing creation, and I'm inspired to try this folding technique myself. Great job ladies, don't you think?

Congratulations, Cassie! Send me an email and we will provide you with a discount code for your next Waltzingmouse Stamps purchase.

Cassie's card will be added to the Big Cheese highlight album in the WMS Gallery. Would you like the opportunity to be chosen? Post your new upload links here, a new thread starts every Monday!
