...quick question

I know, I know - I keep asking and not giving you folks any cards to look at!! I'm hoping that very soon I can make a card or two. The little stamp business has taken on a life of it's own and I'm working very hard to get everything in order. There is a special event that I am planning at the moment and I would love to blab all about it, but I don't want to let my chickens out before the coop is built!! lol.

In the meantime - I had a couple of requests from folks about pre-ordering.
At present when I release stock, I spend a week or so previewing sets and then open the selling for each set on the same day. Usually I have the stock to hand and can spend the next while fulfilling orders. Then they ship.

A few folks wondered about being able to place orders before the actual release. It might be possible for me to allow ordering during the sneak peeks and samples, but I'm not sure if half the fun isn't in the waiting. Also, it has to be said, especially after the last release, that there is the possibility of selling out before the release even gets under way. Some folks might be annoyed by this.

I honestly believe that the fairest way to do it is to carry on as I have with a build up of sneak peeks followed by a release when ordering is opened, but I just thought I'd ask what you think...

  1. If you have the sets when you start showing, folks 'preorder', then you ship all on one day? Isn't that really just ordering on the first day of previewing, and shipping a week later? I think then you are really just releasing a set on the first day, and showing us what you do with it in the following days. I don't like the idea of some people getting a different order time then others, so preordering would have to be open to all. lol, I"m a bit confused!

  2. I agree with your idea to keep it the way it is. It seems to be the way that all the stamp manufactures seem to do... some seem to have as long as a week of sneak peaks before the full reveal and the stamps going on sale.

  3. I think start how you mean to go on Claire, the way you have been selling obviously works so why fix something that isn't broken.
    Keep up the good work.

  4. I would have to agree with you...while your samples always make me want to buy the set, I would like to see the whole thing before I commit and if it was sold out before I even saw it I would be super bummed out!

  5. I say continue as you have been doing things. I think it's fantastic that your stamps have taken off and sell out so quickly but I enjoy waiting to order during the previews. It's fun! Anyway, Congratulations Claire on the success of your stamp line. I knew your designs would be a big hit!!

  6. Claire, I prefer to order on release day. I need to see the full sets before I decide what to order. Is it possible to have an official release time and date? Are you going to release your sets every month?

  7. I couldn't agree more Claire. Yes, it's frustrating to have to wait an extra couple of days if I get to the button after everyone else, but what the heck? It just adds to the anticipation and excitement!

  8. Hi Claire! Here is my humble opinion: from your viewpoint it would be nice to have orders prior to the release - from the buyers standpoint - I think it's more fair to only sell when the sets are fully shown and released - those who come when they know the sets are released - and order only to find they are already sold out might get discouraged... on the other hand - if people could preorder and then you ordered more sets to start with since you knew you had so many sales up front - perhaps that would satisfy everyone?

  9. I would ask that you keep it as is...no early ordering. I know everyones excited, and your stamps are fab, but they are, just "stamps." Not food, not shelter...We crafters tend to lose sight of this when we love something! Do not complicate things for yourself. Just my humble opinion.

  10. I am with you Claire - it is fun to wait and see until the end, what you need and then everybody has the same chance at the same time.... keep going, you are doing it right!

  15. I agree with so many-let the orders begin the day of release. Here's how I see it: if the same ones (as it will always be them) always pre order, then no one else will ever get a chance as you will always be sold out in advance. Pre sale, is it be. It ain't broke Girl, so please leave it as it is.
Meanwhile, I am patiently waiting to see when the Xmas set is not sold out and will place my order then.

  18. I say keep it the way you have been doing things. I like to see what is been done with them, before I would decide too. It is working for you, so leave it the way it is! Hugs to you on your great success! Michelle

  19. I think that you should leave it like you have it. While we all might want it right now a few days a week is not going to change anyones life. I think the anticipation and excitment is a driving force don't get rid of that.
