...I tried, I really did, lol

For over an hour this evening I tried to make a card, lol, I really did.

It's not that my mojo has gone - I know exactly where it is, it's asleep upstairs. Truth is, there's been way too much going on for this last month! I've been designing stamp sets to take me into next year. I have set myself new timescales in an effort to be prepared well ahead of releases so that I avoid running out of stock etc. I've been working most nights until 2-3 am. I am not complaining, I love this little business and I am determined to do it properly. In a while I expect things to slow down for me personally as I get into some sort of routine.

I have also been designing and formatting a new web store!!!!!!! I'm so very excited by this, I can't wait to show you all!! I am very pleased with how it has turned out. I had help of course, I don't speak html or whatever it is those folks write websites in, lol, but I wanted to do the graphics myself.

Added to all this there are still some folks in my house who expect to be fed edible food at certain times of the day, lol. My family has been incredible this past few weeks. Today I was feeling less that 100% and my two little ladies took charge, making sandwiches and drawing little pictures to cheer me up. They are my wee cherubs and I dote on them.

The house has literally fallen apart around me as I sat tapping at the 'puter. Laundry now comes in 3 categories: It'll do another day, Wash now please and Incinerate immediately. And, last week the girlies went back to school.

I'm a tad pooped. Oh and we're redecorating a couple of bedrooms...

I have felt bad about not having anything to put on the blog in a while and so tonight I took time out to make something...my head is so full of all the new stamps coming, and all the ideas i have for those new sets tat I couldn't concentrate to make anything..oh and i was a little sleepy..lol

So, here's the plan.

I'm hoping to have a huge official opening party, end September/beginning October - date to be confirmed later this week.

During the party I intend to launch my new webstore. I also intend to launch some new stamp sets. I will also - finally - reveal the Design team!!!! eeeek!!! I had so many applications from fabulous people that I had such a tough time choosing folks but i finally made a decision.

I'm hoping to write to folks who applied over the next few days.

There will be loads of samples and inspiration, competitions - you won't want to miss these! there will be a grand prize!!

After this I hope to get into a regular schedule of releasing new stamps once a month - if anyone has a preference for a date, let me know!! I'm thinking somewhere near the end of each month - but it's not set in stone...

Also I'm interested to hear how many sets you'd like o see released each month, or maybe it doesn't even matter to you, I'm just curious!! lol

anyhow, off to bed.

chat soon.

  1. Claire, you are too funny! I can't imagine how you are managing at all! I'm sure most folks won't mind waiting for you to catch up on your sleep before you post another card here! LOL! :)
I miss reading your blog, however. I just love your writing style - it's like chatting with a friend. But it's exciting to hear that the stamp business is going so well for you, you deserve it for all your hard work. So, I'll patiently wait. Take care!

  3. I sure can relate to the lost mojo, Claire. It's tough when that happens, but let yourself off the hook. It will come back sooner than you know.

I'm excited about all the upcoming happenings....I can hardly wait to see it all.

  4. It sort of makes me feel better to know that somebody with your talent sometimes doesn't have the creative juice. LOL

All kidding aside, it doesn't sound like you have any time to stamp, even if you wanted!

I'm excited to see your new site and of course hear about the DT!!

  5. Oh Claire, I am tired just reading that! How on earth do you keep up? Its all I can do to manage my teaching job and my kids... in fact with school starting Tuesday the crafting time is about to take a huge hit! I can't wait to see your new webstore. I love your stamps. I think one or two sets a month is good... don't exhaust your self! I made up a pretty little card using my dd's gingies... I make her share. Hoping to put on the blog in the next day or so. Take care!

  6. I am glad that you are getting things done in advance and you won't have so much to do for future releases. I am sure that everyone knows how hard you have been working to get things up and running, and I can't even imagine how hard it is for you to keep everything organized. I am so excited to see who you have chosen for your design team, I am positive they will be amazing advocates for your stamp line.

Personally, I would like to see 2 stamp sets released per month, because anything more than that and I won't be able to afford them all ;)

  8. Claire, thanks for your hard work. I am looking forward to seeing the new website and sets. I am having so much fun creating vintage tags for my friends. When I opened the padded envelope you sent the stamps in, my husband said "WOW!". I can't wait to see what my friends will say about the tags. Anyway, I am sure that I'll be a regular customer :) and I'd like to see from 2 to 3 sets per month.
Thanks for asking your customer's opinion!

  10. Awh Claire - I need a lie down just thinking about what you've had to do in the last couple of months. What an incredible journey and I couldn't be happier for all your success as you are so wonderfully creative and talented.

I think your idea of the end of the month for release is perfect as most of us mere mortals get paid then LOL!

Can't wait for the grand opening of your new store :D

I think 1 to 2 sets is a great number to release each month.

  13. It will all come into place! Take a deep breath and don't think about it all at once - one thing at a time.

  15. Claire, don't worry about the laundry just you concentrate on those gorgeous stamps lol last week I found a pair of pedal pushers from the 80's at the bottom of my laundry basket, only joking its not AS bad as that yet but close. I think the end of the month would be a great time to release new stamps, pay day! Good luck with the new web site, can't wait to see it and I'm so miffed I missed out on applying for your design team and good luck to all that applied I bet there getting so excited. Donna x

  16. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and wake up again in the morning. You've achieved so much in such a short time and it is difficult to juggle household commitments & family life too.

You're doing a great job and should be proud of yourself. Month end is always good for purchases, especially if you're lucky enough to have just been paid. But don't put out too many sets at once or I'll be bankrupt and you'll be worn out!
