...ahhhh more Ireland!

I received some news today which rather put me on the back foot, so it might be a day or two before I feel like making a card. If you're in touch with the Big Guy upstairs, you might throw one in for my little dude. In the meantime I have a couple of shots taken in and around the Mourne mountains over this past weekend.

Top is Greencastle which turns out to be quite an interesting castle - tho only open in the summer months, so I couldn't actually get into it, but it's on my list.

The following is quoted from the Ireland's Eye website:

"The castle was built by Hugh de Lacy almost certainly during the 1230s to protect the southern approaches to the Earldom of Ulster. It was escheated to the Crown after 1243, wrecked by the Irish in 1260 and from 1280 to 1326 was a favoured residence of the most powerful man in Ireland, Richard de Burgh, the "Red Earl" of Ulster. His daughters were raised here, including Elizabeth, who married Robert Bruce, King of Scotland, in 1302 although this did not dissuade Edward Bruce from sacking it in 1316."

The next is some pretty wild primroses and below that one of the many ruins scattered throughout the hills, I'm a total sucker for romantic historical settings.

  10. I love the pics SO beautiful....There are no Primroses in Iowa and I miss them SO MUCH. There are no castles either....and I lived right next to one on the Isle of Wight and saw it every single day. You never know what you have until it's gone.
I will certainly say a prayer for all of your family.

  29. I'll be praying for your little guy. Sans the gorgeous castles, Croatia is a lot like Ireland. Lush, green hills and lots of wild flowers around. I miss the US so much, but love living in Europe.

  38. Someone in Texas is praying for you and your family. I love the pictures. We went for 4 short days last Sept--just enough to whet my appetite for more. I didn't get to go to Ulster where one of my ancestors came from. I really hope we can return. God bless.

May God Our Father restore what has been broken and mend every hurt. His Word says Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Hard as it may be try not to reason this one out but trust the God will work it out for the "little dude's good" In the waiting your own strength is renewed.
My sister was miraculously healed of colon and liver cancer last year. Trusting was hard, waiting hard, but the Lord fulfilled His promise to her and He will to you as well.
blessings in abundance chase you down and overtake you all

  41. OMGosh Claire. When I read this it was like a punch in the stomach. Just know I'm thinking about your "little dude", you, and your whole family. Whatever it is, you'll get through this, I just know it in my heart. You are such an inspiration to me, and I feel that you are a strong person too. I don't pray often for many things, but I will for this. You and your "little dude" take care. Best, Curt
