...It's July Blog waltz time....

Imagine being late for your owl Blog Waltz!! I'm so sorry ladies! I really should have been ready but I've been working with the Web designer to get the new store licked into shape and there's still a lot to do! lol can't wait to show you all!!!

Just in case you are 'new', Waltzingmouse Stamps have a special blog waltz every 17th of the month, we add our links in the WMS Forum and then you can leisurely wend your way down a list of blogs all sporting their WMS finest!! AND there are always prizes to be had! check out the deets here.

Phew! Super fast card for today's Waltz, the theme was green and blue, but I had to pop a wee bit of orange in to add a little zing!

The blue panel was made by stamping the long border from Victorian Frippery, repeatedly to make a nice background pattern, I used a versacolour ink, Lapis Lazuli I think it was. I then sponged all over with distress ink, cracked glass. Just trimmed it square.

I cut out a label shape using the Spellbinders Die template labels 2, and stamped the label stamp to match from Vintage Labels 2. Then I cut out the oval in the centre to make my label into a frame, I have a wee tip for you on how to do this but I had not time to write it up here, hopefully post that tomorrow.

I used spellbinders dies here to cut out the shape for my flowers (Dahlia) from designer paper from the bloom and grow collection from My Mind's Eye. Scrunched, scrunched some more and wished I was Mona Pendleton... have you seen her flowers??

I used the larger decorative motif from Victorian Frippery as my flower leaves, and the sentiment is from Rescue remedies additions.

oooh and my card base is some lovely hammered cream card from Papermill UK, it has that lovely textured finish already and the back is super smooth, fabby for stamping!

Right, now that I'm 'up' we can slow down! lol, we have all day to get through the waltz list on the forum! time for tea, I think...

hope it tickles!

  21. Claire,
I just love your choice of that particular blue and green, and your use of the decorative motif for the leaves: so clever!! And orange (my favorite color;-) ) was a perfect accent to pop that flower. You are a great artist: thanks for sharing your talents!!!
