...Make Your Holiday Shine with Foil-Mates™

Good morning folks and welcome to our Holiday blog hop - today the girls at Gina K designs are showing you how to make your Holidays shine with Foil-Mates™

My post is a little pic heavy so I'm keeping the ramble to a minimum, but the products I used are listed below and you can scoop them all from HERE at the Gina K. Designs store:

 Holiday Flora Foil Mates
Tag Tidings Foil Mates
Onamental Holiday Foil Mates
Festive Labels Foil Mates
Radiant red Foil
Glittering Green Foil
Decorative Tag Die Set
Decorative Label Die Set

I adore how everything co-ordinates, it makes it soooo super easy to create pretty things so quickly! My card above features one of the larger label designs from the Festive Labels Foil Mates

http://www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/product.sc;jsessionid=B293ADDDAA0F61DF4777A7A64FA39A4A.p3plqscsfapp005?productId=3017&categoryId=307

I foiled it in that glorious red shade before layering it onto two different backgrounds that I made with the Ornamental Holiday and Holiday Flora Foil Mates. I used plain black card for matting and filled in around the outer area of the label with a black marker to make my large label co-ordinate with the black mats. It was super simple, but very effective!

I created a little Holiday packaging for my next project and I wanted to show you a neat way to incorporate those pretty foils into other areas using double sided tape. The pics are pretty self explanatory, but basically I used strong double sided tape to add to co-ordinating striped to my plain red tin. I picked up the stripe design from the background tag that I had foiled with the ornamental holiday candy stripe Foil Mate sheet. Here's a series of pics to show you how:

Start with a plain tin, or box.

Add your design with double sided tape.

Peel off the top of the tape.

layer the foil onto the sticky tape, colour side up. Smooth it well.

Peel off the foil to reveal your foiled design - I went for a tone on tone look with red on red.

Add your tag. you're done! Custom packaging.

I die cut the tags with the gorgeous Decorative tag die set, I'm loving the tags in this set. The label sentiment is from Tag Tidings and was foiled with the Radiant Red foil. I sure hope you like what I did with the foils, they are super easy to work with!

...Gina K Designs Inspirational Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day Two of the Gina K Inspiration blog hop! We'd some high winds here yesterday and the electricity was in again out again for a while, so I'm still surfing yesterdays hop, but WOW! the DT are such a creative force, the things I've seen so far have me reaching for the cardstock this morning, hope you feel it too!

Todays sets are Purrfect Christmas from Chris, isn't this fun! I chose to have my putty cat dreaming of his Christmas plans but there are so many other options for scene creation in this set! I coloured my cat like a ginger tabby, cos that's my fave, but you can create any kind of feline buddy that you want!

And this adorable mouse - Noelle Mouse set from Beth - another super scene builder - I popped her in front of a Christmas tree, also in the set and gave her a candy cane, she looks suitably happy! The tiny little motif stamps in this set are great for creating backgrounds and accents, I used the mini holly to frame the aperture!

I hope you've enjoyed my samples, now it's time to pop off and visit the DT - and DON'T forget to comment on each blog for your chance to win a $50 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Gina K Designs Store and check out the entire stamp and die sets as well as all of the new stamp sets by the illustrators from this month in the “What’s New” section at http://www.ginakdesigns.com.

A ton of gorgeous new sets have just been released over at Gina's and the DT are here today and tomorrow to inspire you with some ideas for how to use them!
Today we are featuring the Fabulous Holiday Labels stamp set by Melanie, and the Peaceful Holidays set by Theresa, both shown below:

Melanie's set co-ordinates with the Fabulous Rose Frame stamp set

Made with Theresa's Peaceful holidays, I loved stamping the BG pattern with the gorgeous snowflakes!

Both above made with Peaceful holidays, can't get enough of those trees!

I am loving creating tags with Melanies new Fabulous Labels stamp set, couldn't resist adding a little colour to the wee houses - just stamped the image again in red and trimmed out the houses with a knife and stuck them on top of the blue stamped image!

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $50 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

...Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp

It's always exciting to get new stamps, but a week or two ago I got a very special package from Simon Says stamp - in it was this set - it's a new Gina K set produced in collaboration with Simon Says Stamp for their Stamptember event!

There's a blog hop going on today to celebrate and I would encourage you to visit the other DT folks blogs to see what they've made with this cracking set:

I created this card to celebrate the launch of this set - thought it would be fun to have the snowmen playing hide and seek in the trees. The trees are clear embossed onto white card and then I sponged shades of blue over them to create an evening sky background. I sliced down the side of some of the tree trunks and slotted in my fussy cut my snowmen. Love these guys!

This is a cracking set and I cannot wait to see what everyone else has done with it. This set is exclusively available from Simon says Stamp and there are matching dies which may be purchased separately - but you need to scoop these up quick, it's my understanding that when it's gone, it's gone!

...Gina K August 2017 – Inspiration Blog Hop - Day Two

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous blog hop celebrating the new stamp sets by Gina K and the illustrator team from Gina K. Designs! We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs! Today we are featuring the new stamp sets by Beth Silaika and little old me!

First up is Beth's set - Todd Turtle:

http://www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/product.sc?productId=3006&categoryId=16

My card for this set features that cute crab! LOL, that is gonna be such a useful sentiment in this house... I used the Water droplets stencil from Gina K to create the background, perfect for this stamp set! this little set is jam packed with punny sentiments and cute critters!

Next up is my set - Perfect Poinsettia: It's a layering set and I have a little cheat sheet showing you how to layer these easily. Feel free to screenshot this for future reference!

http://www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/product.sc?productId=3007&categoryId=16

http://www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/product.sc?productId=3007&categoryId=16

If you have this set, you will notice that I kept the centres of each of the layer stamps as similar as possible so that you can just line these up over each other to get a perfect match - the video is coming tho if you need a little visual!

I have two cards for this post, for which I created a red poinsettia and a white poinsettia. Gina's inks are great for layering and you could create just about any combination of colours!

I made the green leaves behind the flowers by just re-stamping the main flower in shades of green, super simple!

Framescape - Winter Trees by Theresa

These stamp sets are extremely versatile! You will be able to create amazing card projects using each individual set or by combining the images and sentiments from multiple sets from this release.

Be sure to visit each team member to see the fabby samples and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop. Ready for some inspiration? Here are a few of the projects I have created for today’s hop:

I couldn't resist adding a little red nose to my Rudolph - this is the stag from Theresa's gorgeous Framescape - winter trees set. I applied a speck of white acrylic paint o the end of his nose - a good tip is to use the point of a pin - so that the dollop of paint is not too large. Once it dried I coloured it red with a copic, - Of course if you have red paint....
The pattern paper here is from Gina's Winter Cheer paper pack. The sentiment is from Melanie's Holiday Frame - Clear set.

I like to make tall cards as well as landscape layout cards and so I just inked up the trees for this card and left off the frame. I popped in a few mountains, also from the set ,and added my traveller silhouette down beside the sentiment. I think this works a treat. I love the simplicity of the black ink on kraft cardstock, I think this makes a great masculine card.

I used the whole framed image for this card - it's the same image as the card above, but doesn't it look so different! I created a Northern Lights background before stamping the scene in Versamark and then adding white embossing powder. I added a Christmas sentiment from Melanie's Holiday Frame - Clear set because I thought the snowy scene really lent itself to the season!

Melanie has just released Holiday Frame Fillers which is a follow up to her
Holiday Frame - Clear set. The images are perfect for extending your use of that original set, or for creating stand alone cards using just this new set. I used the snowman form Holiday Frame on this card, I thought he would look sweet in a shower of sequin snowballs! The sequin stamps are such fun and I can see those being pulled out for a multitude of cards - here I have white embossed them and then smooched a little colour behind them to make them pop.

One of the other stamps in the fillers set is a banner stamp - I used it to create criss-crossing banners on this Welcome home card (you might have spotted this card at the release party), it's a great celebratory image. You can fill the banners in with flat colour using the co-ordinating solid stamp, or you can customise them with a little chevron stripe stamp, or even add patterns. Make yourself a little mask as shown in this wee pic and place it directly over the flag you want to fill. You can then use larger stamps to add pattern to the flag without getting it all over the surrounding area.

This card also uses an image from Melanie's new set, you might have seen this card at the party. It features a charming little trio of pumpkins. I paired the image with some pattern papers from The Simple Things paper pack.

...a few Etsy trinkets

A heads up for the folks who asked - I popped a small handful of ornaments onto my Etsy store this evening. I made a big batch of these some weeks ago and went to a couple of craft fairs. I don't have a ton of them left and I really should make a few more, but you know how busy it gets this time of year... anyhow these 5 are on Etsy this weekend just for funs, they may not be there next week as I might have to commandeer them for my last Christmas Market.... ta for asking!

... cabin in the woods

Evening folks - do you get your free cut files yesterday - I added a vest and a stocking and you can get them from here at Stamp TV.

Anyhow, my blog post yesterday was a little overcrowded and I never got to show you anything I made with any of the other sets in the Gina K holiday release - you can see all the new goodies in one place right here.

This card was made with Melanie's newest set Holiday Frame (below). It has lots and lots of little bits and pieces that you can use to dress up the large frame stamp. I pictured a moon in the large circle. I oriented the large frame stamp so that I could add the little cabin underneath the 'moon'. I cut the moon out of a piece of watercolour paper and popped it up a little to add some depth to this otherwise flat card.

Just about everything was stamped in Versamark onto watercolour paper and embossed with white embossing powder set with a heat tool. All of the colour on this card is watercolour paint. Snow was added after by using the snow stamp from Melanie's set with versamark and white embossing powder once again.

I used some of the lovely north woods style trees from Theresa's newest set Dashing to create my forest around the cabin. Here's the entire set below.

The Merry Christmas sentiment fills up the moon nicely - it's from the current incentive set Holly Jolly which is currently FREE with any $75.00 order! This set ship automatically without adding to your cart.

Hope you like it, I will be back soon with the template for the beanie hat cards since a few folks wanted those! thanks for stopping by!
