... New Stamps for June/July

Good evening/morning and welcome to the full reveal of the 11 new clear photopolymer stamp sets that we are releasing today. Right about now the ladies are holding the traditional release day blog hop and I invite you to pop over and see them now, remember comments might equal prizes :)

A little info and then scroll on down to see what's new!

Freebie

Before we take another step I just wanted to let you know that for this release we have a little something extra - the first 50 orders over £60GBP will receive this little mini set absolutely free of charge. It's such a handy little set that co-ordinates with so many of our recent stamp sets that I thought it would make a nice freebie!

Free Shipping

ALL orders over £60GBP will still qualify for free shipping no matter where in the world you are!

Backordering

Out of stock sets are available to order as our store allows backordering, but please be aware, if you are ordering an item that is currently out of stock, your order will be held until all the items requested are in stock and ready to ship. We offered partial shipping for a few months while we were low on stock after moving supplier but we cannot operate this on a permanent basis and it has now come to an end.

USA Shipping

Please note that due to the 4th July holidays - our USA shipper will be shipping today/tomorrow and for an hour on Tuesday morning - after that our USA shipper will be on a small break and will resume shipping on Monday 8th July - so if you are in USA you might want to get your order in ASAP!

We are delighted to add to our large number of sets now available directly from USA with today's release. When ordering a set which is available from USA, you will now have the choice to select your set from either UK or USA stock.

USA residents whose orders contain sets which are all in stock and available from USA, will receive their goodies much faster and will be able to select the USA flat rate shipping option instead of international shipping!

All sets currently available from USA can be found by clicking here. For future ref there's a Handy Link in our sidebar on the store called 'Stamps we can ship from USA' - clicking on that will take you to the most current selection.

Publication Incentive

In case you missed the announcement last month - we now have a small publication scheme running! check it out here.

Good afternoon folks! I will be revealing a bundle of new sets at 7:00pm this evening my time!

We have a little extra treat this month - there will be a free mini stamp set for selected orders, more details on that later!

We are continuing to expand our USA shipping and all of today's new sets will be available to ship from USA.

We have refined the process at the store ever so slightly and on selected product pages in the store you will see that you can now pick whether you want your item to ship from UK or USA. This replaces the drop down menu previously used.

For USA residents please remember though, that in order to ship from USA, your order must only contain items that are available and in stock in USA.

Items that are not available from USA will not show this option.

If you have filled your basket and all of your items are available from USA - you will then have the option during checkout to choose the "Flat rate shipping within USA option." This will mean that not only will you be getting your items much faster, you will not have to pay international shipping!! woohoo! Our free shipping promotion will still work for USA orders and so If your order is over £60GBP you will automatically qualify for free shipping as normal!

Residents in the rest of the world will continue to have their orders shipped from UK as normal.

...Introducing Funky feathers and a comp!

Please note the Competition is now closed!!

Good evening folks! I have some Funky Feathers cards for you - this set is brimming with graphic feather designs in a sort of retro/modern style.

I absolutely cannot resist stamping patterns with these...

This stamp is a cute take on a Peacock feather and there are a few little doodad stamps that you can use to customize the centres. There's also a little extra feather strand that you can use to add extra colour and I added it to the base of each of the peacock stamps, it works with all the feathers and it's just a little extra customization fun!

I could just spend all day stamping patterns, I love the fresh graphic style of these, I seriously cannot decide which I like best, the realistic Fine feathers or the modern Funky feathers...

OOh that sounds like a good competition question!! Leave a comment here telling me which set you prefer out of the Fine Feathers and Funky Feathers from what you have seen so far, one random winner will win their preferred set, I'll pick my winner tomorrow night at midnight my time!

If you can share this on Facebook and Pinterest also, it will be to your benefit - I will add an extra prize for each 50 folks we get playing along!

Also included is a little bead stamp...another fun detail for customization - and do you like the sentiment? :)

I added a handy gift card holder to the inside of this card just by stamping two feathers and slicing along one side of each, I positioned them so that the card corners just slide in under each feather.

Don't forget to leave you comment for a chance to win - ooh and please share this on Facebook and Pinterest also - I will add an extra prize for each 50 folks we get playing along!

Hope they tickle!

...Introducing Fine Feathers

Good morning! Apologies for being so late! I have a few things to show you today so I'll be back later on with another post, but I just wanted to pop this one up first!

Have you been round the ladies yet? There is some incredible inspiration there, we're previewing Fine Feathers, Funky Feathers and some Crackle background sets today. Here's a wee list in case you haven't seen them yet today:

My project this morning features the Fine Feathers set. Due for release on Sunday night, this is a feather set based on a more realistic style of feather, there are lots and lots of different shapes and sizes to chose from and plenty of sentiments also and I thought a neat way to showcase this would be to use a handful of them for this little Dream Catcher.

It's a dainty little piece of home decor and the cut files for this will be included in the Fine Feathers cut file bundle that will also be available on Sunday.

Easily put together with a little thread and a few beads if you see fit - I used pearls and kept my colours white and grey - very restful. My youngest daughter wants this one for above her bed and eldest daughter has commissioned a multi-coloured one.

There are a few dream related sentiments in both the Fine feathers and Funky Feather sets so I can see the Dream Catcher making it's way on to Scrapbook pages or even cards. The Feathers are already perfectly sized for cards and Scrapbooks.

Pop back later on if you have a free moment, I should have more to show you!
Hope it tickles!

...Introducing Funky Feathers, Fine feathers and Crackle Backgrounds

Good morning folks, I will be back later today with my samples, I have a few ready, but unfortunately I have fallen foul of a few end-of-term germs and so I'm not quite at the ready this morning! See ya later on though! Here is a list of folks you must visit today though as the ladies help me show off our new goodies!

...Introducing You're A Doll and Doll Additions

Good morning! Today we are bringing you some samples of projects created with two of the new sets due for release on Sunday, You're a Doll and You're a Doll Additions.

It's a Matryoshka set or Russian Doll set to you and me. It's a fun set for folks who like to stamp. Endless possibiilities abound in this set and there are 3 sizes of dolls that you can create as well as a couple of 'ready made' dolls that don't need to be put together for when you are in a hurry.

Here are a few ladies I whipped up using the You're a doll set, and also some images from Country labels 4, such as the little leafy sun motif and the cherries.

One of the tricks of this set is the faces - for anyone who is already scared at the thought of having to stamp that little round face in exactly the correct place, let me show you how it's done...

Simple, pimple, just stamp your face on a piece of scrap and punch it out with a 3/4 inch punch. Stick it in place, perfect every time. The face stamps, of which there are a few, are designed to fit a 3/4 inch circle punch and half inch circle punches perfectly, making this little doll easy to put together.

Check out the DT ladies who are sampling alongside me today:

Hope it tickles!

...Happily ever after...in which I stalk Becca...

I have a quick card for you today, before the onslaught of release activity kicks in later this week! I had a card to make for a lady who is getting married soon. Wedding cards are somewhat of a challenge to me so I found myself, more than once, wondering...what would...Becca do?

I happened to be on Becca's blog recently and spotted, as I normally do, a lot of cards that captured the very essence of elegance. So, shamelessly, I trotted on over and pretty much cased this card.

I loved it! LOL! I cheated, but I loved it! I hope she won't mind! She is just the sweetest person so I hope I am forgiven!

I dug out the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles and set to work. A little ribbon - and just while I am talking ribbon, have you seen Becca's peg bow maker? I have one and I do not make a bow without it these days! You can snag one at Our Daily Bread designs, just follow the link, I loved the dvd that came with it.

The sentiment is one of ours from Big Day Addittions.

Hope it tickles!

June Blog Party Recap–Summertime WINNER!

Hello bloggers! June is nearly over, but summer is just heating up.  Our recent Blog Party brought out the heat in Summertime Fun with the creative designs from the participants. Here are a few...
Claire A stunning us with a fabulous scrapbook layout featuring the face of her son and his shear joy brought about by a summertime treat of “icy delight”!
Claire created a great frame from the large border image from the Asian Gardens set which framed this layout nicely. She created her ice cream cones using the Frame-It set in a creative way that fit her theme so nicely. The bright sun embellishment contains a center flower from the Folk Art Medallion set and her hidden journaling block is from Very Vintage Labels No. 4 set.  Claire did a fantastic job of showing how versatile WMS image are for scrapbooking! Nice job Claire!

UPDATE - Claire A's photo has been removed because she notified us that it had been pick up for publication. Congratulations Claire!

And what would summertime be without some outdoor grilling? Cathy Weber did a fabulous job creating this adorable barbecue apron that she downloaded from the Silhouette store and dressed it up with fun images from the USA 1776 set and iconic images from the barbecue grill.  It makes me hungry for a juicy hamburger just looking at it.
Rebecca Ednie created this adorable trinket box for the Blog Party, decorated with beautiful patterned paper and a lovely image from the My Island set, declaring that summertime fun starts at the beach for her. Look at the lovely shell trim she used, and she even colors some of the shells using her Copic air gun along with some lovely ivory lace trim. It’s a wonderful box just waiting to hold more treasures from the beach.
summer starts here box

...folk art Halloween Mask

A quick post folks, before the blog party round up tomorrow - wasn't it fabby?? sooo many gorgeous entries! Scroll down two posts if you missed it!

This is just a little doodad I made the other night when I had all my Folk Art Medallion stamps out. I had purchased some plain eye masks in a craft store with the idea of covering them in leaves at some point. I cut a stack of leaf shapes using the Folk Art Medallion cut files (available for Free here). I opened the cut files in the Silhouette programe and just copied and pasted the leaves until I thought I had enough.

I cut them all out of green cardstock - American Crafts seems to be my card of choice lately and then I stamped and stamped....I used Versafine black ink because it dries so quick and I didn't have to wait to get sticking them to the mask. I used double sided tape, extra strong, because I did not want the leaves to shift as they would have in glue.

Actually it didn't take as many as I thought it would - I used 3 different sizes of leaf and just adhered them right to the mask for a cool forest inspired folk art mask - I kinda like it!! I am trying to get ahead with everything this year, lol, so nope, it's not too early for Halloween, or indeed Christmas....

Hope it tickles!

...summer starts here

This is my entry to the WMS blog party in This Post

There are still a couple of hours left to enter the links close at 6:30pm my time tonight! The theme is Summertime fun....check out the details in the post below or click here.

I made a little scrappy card because summer for me is usually all about what bits of the beach I find scrunched up in my pocket later on... I'm not much of a beach bod myself but I do like to see the wee folk having fun so we go as weather permits...

Anywhoo I have a wee how-to on how to create a fast simple scene with My Island stamps and a brayer.

I used my brayer to create instant location! I was not particularly careful because careful is time consuming and I have no spare time available for consumption today.

I just inked it up and rolled back and forward about 3 rolls... think that's Daffodil Delght SU...

Inked the brayer with orange ink and rolled, more so towards the bottom of the yellow panel..

Inked brayer in brown - early Espresso SU (without washing...because that's how I roll....LOL...did you see what I did there...) with the brown ink I picked a spot about a third of the way up and sat the brayer down. I rolled it back and forward for a distance of about a quarter inch and when it had made a nice heavy brown line I rolled it on down to the bottom. Instant evening sea.

I inked the small palm tree Island from My Island and stamped it on the brown 'horizon' line that I just brayered. Done. Mere seconds of work.....

I trimmed out the image, distressed and stitched around it - I also ended up folding it up a little to make it more square to suit my card base better.

Below are the  two patterns I made with stamps for some background interest - I love that little hibiscus group from Free Spirit. Stamped it on some pattern paper and added a litttle of the blue tone via copics.

went mad with the sewing machine, but it feels like ages since I have sewn anything so...

Layered it all up and stuck it down with a little help from home made washi tape - see here for how to make some of your own.

Hope it tickles!
