....Spellbinders fans!! Have you seen this?????????????

OMGosh!! I can't wait to get these!!!

Scroll down for our Big Cheese winner, this is our second post today!!

The Big Cheese of the Week

Hi there! It has been another great week of uploads to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Gallery. Many of the Design Team members have uploaded their July Release creations, so if you're looking for some inspiration as your new sets arrive, check them out in the Samples By Stamp Set gallery.

I have a few cards I'd like to share before I announce this week's Big Cheese.

First up is Cyndie, with this bright and cheerful card:

I love the sentiment stamped on the ribbon, and the stamped trellis pattern from Pic-Nic Patterns is perfect for balancing out the card.

Maja made me smile with these adorable gingham sailboats.

Stamped with Gingham & Co., these cuties make a great birthday card. This is Maja's first upload - she just created her own album in the gallery! I bet you can't wait to see more of her creations, either!

This week's Big Cheese is Karen with her Rainy Day card:

Sure love this card with the CAS design, calming colors, and sparkly raindrops. A great encouragement card - aren't you feeling better already? Karen combined Asian Gardens and its companion set, Asian Gardens Additions to create this serene scene.

Outstanding, Karen! Send me an email and we will provide you with a discount code for your next Waltzingmouse Stamps purchase.

Karen's card will be added to the Big Cheese highlight album in the WMS Gallery. Would you like the opportunity to be chosen? Post your new upload links here, a new thread starts every Monday!

...A very merry Christmas and some patterns!

LOL, couldn't resist, it's not long now folks!!! I have a little sample today that I didn't have time to put up before the release and so here it is. I love rich colours, lots of sponging etc and so I'm sorry if you were hoping for a little fresh summer fun!! lol!!

I stamped an oval frame from the Ovals - Classic frames onto some cream card. I lined up the oval die (Spellbinders, classic ovals large set) around the frame - being sure to centre the design before I taped it in place, especially important with oval dies as the embossing flange is not the same width all the way around, and ran it through the GC. I didn't emboss the oval on this occasion.

I stamped a sentiment from Compliments of the Season (Versacolour, pinecone ink) and added a chocolate coloured scalloped mat (Spellbinders Big scalloped ovals LG)

I used a slightly bigger die to cut an aperture in a rectangle of kraft cardstock to make a frame - I had pre-stamped this card with a pattern made with stamps from the Ovals set, you can see the details below.

Behind the frame and the sentiment panel, I placed another piece of patterned card - also stamped with a pattern and sponged heavily with green ink.

I used the stamp that I'm going to call the snowflake stamp - you can see how I built up the pattern below. I used Cherry Cobbler ink...yum! I also did the sponging first!

These pics show the build up of another pattern, made using an oval frame. The last pic shows how it looks when you use the same ink all the way along, and when you use another colour of ink to highlight the design. Stamping patterns like this is my absolute favourite thing to do!!

Hope it tickles!

...Get creative with your cameos

Did you enjoy the release ladies? We were delighted by all of the lovely comments you folks left on the DT blogs! - Lynn posted earlier today about the Blog waltz winner - just scroll down to see if it was you!

Today I have a wee 'How - To' for you - it was something I stumbled over when making samples and it's a neat trick for use with my cameos, but I can picture other things i could do with it.... :)

I specifically wanted to add a detail to my cameo lady - she's from the Cameo to go set and I had heat embossed her with some white powder - it wasn't the fine detail stuff cos I was looking for a sort of antique finish.

I thought I would give her a pearl ear ring, so I pierced her 'ear' right where I thought it would be, with a sharp pin.

Next I put out a blob of white paint on a tiny bit of scrap card. Card is better than paper for this.

Next I set the pierced hole directly over the blob of paint, and pressed down rather hard.

The paint oozes up through the hole, making a perfect little pearl shaped ear-ring. Now leave it to set completely. You might try making a pearl necklet in this way too - I haven't done one yet, but I am itching to try!

I found that this technique was much tidier than trying to dot one on with my gel pen, I kept getting unruly blobs, but maybe I'm just not that handy with a gel pen, anyhow, hope it tickles!!
