The Cast and Crew for
Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous blog hop celebrating the new stamp release for February by our illustrator team! We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs! Today, we are featuring a new stamp set by Beth Silaika, my own new set, Springtime Baskets and our new Incentive set Vintage Rose.
Beth's new set is a super fun egg pals collection of Eastery/Springy folks to help you dress up your Seasonal creations!
I made up an Easter gift set with Beths egg stamps - I love the retro 1950's look of offset stamping and Gina K's inks have plenty of shades available to allow me to create the look - the trick is to stamp the lineart in a dark shade of your chosen colour and then fill in with the solid stamp inked in a paler tone - don't worry if they are not lined up perfectly, in fact it's better not to line them up perfectly - it's more authentic!
This is a fun set with a home made treat container which is really just a cone of paper with tissue paper taped inside the open end of the cone - fill it up with goodies and secure it closed with a piece of ribbon! Use bright colours and the simplest of styling to get the look.
This gorgeous
Vintage Rose set is our incentive set this month - isn't this stunning! yours absolutely FREE with any $75 order while stocks last!
I inked the main image in Black memento ink and coloured with Copics, all the shading is done for you, this image is really the work of moments. I trimmed out my image with a tag die. I used the larger Rose bloom to stamp a co-ordinating black pattern on my card base. Layered these with a sentiment from the set on a smaller tag and there it was! This is going to be such a useful set!
Next up - My set, Springtime Baskets!
Free Cutting Files available for this set, read on -
Springtime Baskets is jam packed with plenty of images and sentiments to cover Easter, Mother's Day and beyond - I've even used it to create a cute baby card here - albeit I stole a teddy from my
Sweet Thing stamp set, to add to my basket - but you are going to find so many things that will fit in these baskets that you will be able to use this set all year!
I'm working on a video featuring this set which I hope to finish this wee and I have so many helpful tips and ideas for it that I do hope you will tune in to watch it - I'll let you know when it's ready!
I am in LOVE with Applemint and Ocean Mist Inks together (both Gina K) and I paired those with fresh white and kraft for my baby card, I thought the sentiment 'Baskets full of Blessings to you' was quite appropriate for a baby card.
I designed this basket to be perfect for use with circle dies and you can have fun like I did layering your die cuts to frame the basket image.
If you like to cut out your images, and have an electronic cutter such as a Silhouette, you may want to avail of the FREE cutting files - Download them for yourself by

For this trio of cards I used the open basket cut file. I stamped my baskets in Brown Memento ink and coloured them with copics. I then prepared my card fronts with the various fillers stamped and coloured and a little sponging on each. The baskets were layered over these, a very simple way to add dimension to the cards.
I have a few more cards in the works but I'm saving some of those for my videos so my final card today is that tall basket - it's made by stamping the circular basket on top of the urn shaped basket - there's a wee trick to this, which I'll show you in the video, it's super simple and gives you the option of a grander, tall thin basket for tall cards. I filled mine with daffodils.
I stamped my basket onto a pre-cut shape that I created with the cut files - all of these options these are already designed and in the free Cut file bundle.
You can tell how much I'm enjoying sponging all my Gina K inks lately...
