...fashionably late!

I spent so much time embossing everything in sight yesterday that I didn't leave myself enough time to make a card!!! Today I managed to finish one that I started yesterday!!

And so, I am fashionably late for the party, just squeezing this card in before we wind down our Spellbinders party!

If you haven't seen them already, off you go to visit Sandie, Lynn, Jennifer, Belinda and Laurie!

I was impressed by the embossing capabilities of the Grand Calibur, so much so that I got a little carried away, ribbons, string, skinny twigs, all got passed through the GC yesterday...and then I had an idea!!!

Stitching!!! I LOVE stitching, I love the look of it, but I also love the texture!! I thought I would try my hand at embossing stitches!!

I have a fairly cool sewing machine, I was a quilter before I made cards and there are some pretty fancy stitches on my machine. I ran out some straight lines of a little leaf pattern stitch and passed it through the GC. Fabby!

What I got was a lovely homespun texture!! You can see the actual stitching on he left and the embossed texture on the right. Here's a tip - if you fancy trying this, do your stitching on as thin a piece of paper as you can, that way they can't 'hide' in the paper when you are trying to emboss the onto a piece of thicker cardstock.

I got the sponges out...lol, and tried sponging the front...

and then the back...cool! two looks for the effort of one. I chose to use a circle of the front texture on my card above, I trimmed it out with a circle nestie (Spellbinders classic circles small). As the plates are so big on this machine, I trimmed out the lacy circle mat and the little sun shape at the same time. (Sun shape is the smallest circle in the lacy circles set)

I added the little paper pieced tree and birdie from Teeny trees. I grounded the image by adding a string landscape, these are held in position on the front with two tiny pieces of extra sticky double sided tape. A Lacey circles mat and a piece of patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket Togetherness pad) cut into a square mat complete the front section.

Then I made a string background texture for the background panel - I laid out some strips of the same string in lines across the base plate of the GC. Then I laid a sheet of card over, added the tan mat and embossing plate and fed it through the GC.

I liked being able to custom make a nice subtle texture to suit my card!

Hope it tickles!!!

I do hope you have enjoyed our little party, I'm still catching up - I've been embossing all day!

Don't forget -

• We will be drawing a random shopper from the 3 day party period to win their basket for free! I will announce the winner tomorrow as the deadline is midnight tonight!! (my time, check the clock on the sidebar!)

• If you've been leaving comments on the DT blogs (party posts) you are in with a chance to win one of the 3 comment prizes!!

• Also, tomorrow we will invite all you folks to CASE a card/project from the 3 days. You will have one week to link your entries to the WMS blog post (which I will post tomorrow, Monday) and then we'll pick a random winner for a prize. You may enter as many times as you like. One random winner will receive a set of Grand Nestabilities Dies - Grand Labels 4 and a set of stamps of their choice!

Thanks for coming to our party!!!

...Look! I'm waltzing!

ED - The card I use is this stuff, I have found it in UK, not sure if it's available in US, but I think these guys ship...you can get it in white or cream, it has one textured side and one fairly smooth side, it's neat stuff but quite porous, so stamping is not as crisp as it would be on say, a Gina K white or a PTI card. Ta for asking!

Good morning/afternnoon/Evening!!

I am taking part in the Friends of WMS blog waltz today, anybody can play along, you simply make a card loosely connected to this months theme of Autumn/Harvest and link it on our WMS forum so's we can pop over and see!

Here is the link thread, we also run a wee competition, you can read about it here. You do need to be registered on the forum to play, but that's only so's we can all chat about it on the forum too, and it's easy to register.

For my card today, I broke out the Teeny Trees set, I seem to have had so little time to stamp recently and I wanted something that was going to be quick!!

I love the the little linked leaf circles, and I paired them with the tallest tree trunk/branch image. I used Distress Inks and blended them on the stamp using the rock and roll tecknique, you ink up in one colour and then roll the edges of the stamp in another colour, couldn't be simpler!

Cut the tree panel out with a rectangular Spellbinders Die template. Sponged exuberantly with Shabby Shutters distress ink and cut a slightl larger mat, which I sponged with crushed olive.

My card base is a 6x4.5 inch base of cream cardstock, stamped with the diamond trellis from Pic-Nic patterns. Stamped and sponged with Antique Linen, what else? LOL.

Right! I'm going to try to get a little waltzing in today, what are you up to??

Hope it tickles!

...say hello to Frame-It

Good morning and welcome to the third day of samples for the October release of new stamps from WMS. Tomorrow we will be releasing 5 new clear photopolymer stamp sets.

I've been loving the Design Team samples, have you? Here's who's previewing with me today:

Today my first cards are made using the new Frame-It set. It's a concept by Joan Bardee, a cracking idea, a simple lined frame stamp with an opening for various interchangeable sentiments. I loved it, I wanted it and now it's here!

In the set I featured a square frame, measuring 2 and3/4 inches by 2 and 3/4 inches, and also a rectangular frame measuring 2 and 1/4 by 4 inches. The set includes 18 sentiment stamps to cover year round occasions, and 3 cupcake stamps. There is a neat little leaf motif too!

The first two samples here are standard size cards, 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/2 inches, so that you can see the proportions of the frames, when you simply stamp them onto a card base.

Perfect for CAS cards these frames are a great way to add a little design finesse to a simpler card layout, or you can use the frames to accentuate more complex designs, as some of the DT showed us yesterday.

I simply stamped the frames and added a little cupcake to my first card, I LOVE cupcakes and the more I use this little cupcake the more I like it, I love the neat little swirl at the top! I accented my first cupcake with glossy accents and couldn't resist adding some stickles to my second card, I coloured the 'Icing' with copics and applied some white stickles, when they dry it looks like they soaked up some of the colour from the copics to provide custom sprinkles!

With my last card this morning, I wanted to show you some tips regarding the Holiday Labels No.14 set, also releasing tomorrow. I also had a chance to use the new Text-It set, I love the variety of fonts in this set, I used the old gothic English style as a background , and Anya, did you notice, I pinched your idea to use the Teeny Trees trunks to make snowflakes?!! lol

I'm a greedy soul when it comes to stamps, I always want to fit as many in as possible. If I'm designing stamps to suit dies, then the size of the stamps are largely dictated by the die size and so I have to try to be creative in the way that I design stamps, I want value for money, and to me that means lots of options in a stamp set.

A feature of my Spellbinder friendly dies are the multiple frame dies, where I have two or more frames laid out on the same stamp. Here's one example below:

This particular stamp is made up of two sides, one lighter weight design, and one heavier design, you can clearly see these in the pic above. You have the option to use the stamp the way it is supplied, the two designs co-ordinate and give an interesting frame.

Alternatively, you can ink up one side and stamp it twice, see below to get a frame with both sides the same. See the pics below, in this way you get two more frames from the one stamp.

Or you might decide to stamp one side only on your die cut, in the same way as I did on the label in the Christmas Greetings card above. using the stamp in this way gives a total of 4 'frames' from this one stamp.

Another of the frames in the Holiday Labels No 14 set is the one shown in the pic below: You can see that the outer frame only has been inked up to give the red image on the card.

The frames are easily inked up separately and the little inner frame may be inked independently of the larger frame to produce a smaller image.

There will be folks who decide to cut these apart (and yep, I'm thinkin' bout you Belinda! LOL! and you Joan!) and that is your choice, I design them like this so that I can get more designs in a set and also because it adds a certain amount of extra stability, and I'm happy to use them in this way, but I just know some folks prefer to separate them.

Hope it tickles!

OOh and yesterday's competition is still running, you can scroll down and leave a comment on yesterdays post to have a chance of winning!

...Cutting awkward frames with Spellbinders Die Templates

Thanks to everyone who participated in yesterday's blog waltz!! I do love these, such a lot of fabby ideas to be had! Check out the links here:

http://www.waltzingmousehouse.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=436

you will need to register on our forum, but it's simple pimple!

So I used a wee frame for yesterdays card, and there's an easy way to cut out that oval, thought I'd pop up a few pointers here today.

I used the labels 2 stamp from the Vintage Labels 2 set. It was designed to fit the Spellbinders Die template Labels 2 dies, but did you know that one of the ovals from the Spellbinders classic ovals also fits the wee oval aperture? nope? me neither! lol! Well that's not entirely true, I do try to make sure that I use shapes that are easy to cut out and I was aiming for the proportions of the Classic ovals but my overall concern for these stamps was the Labels 2 dies.

Anyhow, I wanted to cut out that wee oval, and being the lazy imp that I am, I wanted an easy way to do it. Laziness and perfectionism aren't two qualities that combine naturally, lol, but I swing between the two!

If you stamp the label stamp first, you will notice that it's kinda hard to line up your oval on the stamped image because you can't actually see the cutting line on the die template, and if you cut the oval first, it's kinda hard to line up your stamp, because it'll be covered in ink and the oval shape needs to be set precisely on the line. You don't have the normal guidance that you get with having the clearance that most of my Spellbinder friendly stamps have, this is a much tighter fit.

So here's what to do:

1 - Cut out an oval shape from a piece of scrap card.

2 - Lay your scrap die cut on top of the area that you want to cut out. Place some lo-tac tape or a smidgeon of glue on the reverse of the scrap oval, and fuss about with it until it is in the exact place that you need it to be, this will determine what is cut away so take time to make sure it's in exactly the right place.

3 - Now, lay your die template on top of the scrap cut out, work with it, until you are sure that it is exactly lined up on top of the scrap oval. This is why you used card for your scrap cut out and not paper, the thickness of the card will help your fingers to guide the die template into position. It's probably best to do this on the C plate of your cuttle bug or on your white wizard base plate, so's you don't have to lift it and risk losing the position!

4 - Carefully run the label, scrap oval and die template through your wizard/cuttlebug. These genius die templates seem to have no problem cutting through the card even tho' there is an extra layer of scrap oval in there. If yours isn't cutting cleanly, turn it 90 degrees and pass it through again. The fact that I have no bother doing this is not much help to you if you have diffs! LOL, so you might also try adding a shim or adjusting your sandwich if you do run into diffs.

5 - And there it is, you now have a perfectly cut aperture in your label!

This is such an easy peasy thing to do that you'll want to try it in lots of different situations, where it's hard to line up your die templates!!

Hope it tickles!!

...It's July Blog waltz time....

Imagine being late for your owl Blog Waltz!! I'm so sorry ladies! I really should have been ready but I've been working with the Web designer to get the new store licked into shape and there's still a lot to do! lol can't wait to show you all!!!

Just in case you are 'new', Waltzingmouse Stamps have a special blog waltz every 17th of the month, we add our links in the WMS Forum and then you can leisurely wend your way down a list of blogs all sporting their WMS finest!! AND there are always prizes to be had! check out the deets here.

Phew! Super fast card for today's Waltz, the theme was green and blue, but I had to pop a wee bit of orange in to add a little zing!

The blue panel was made by stamping the long border from Victorian Frippery, repeatedly to make a nice background pattern, I used a versacolour ink, Lapis Lazuli I think it was. I then sponged all over with distress ink, cracked glass. Just trimmed it square.

I cut out a label shape using the Spellbinders Die template labels 2, and stamped the label stamp to match from Vintage Labels 2. Then I cut out the oval in the centre to make my label into a frame, I have a wee tip for you on how to do this but I had not time to write it up here, hopefully post that tomorrow.

I used spellbinders dies here to cut out the shape for my flowers (Dahlia) from designer paper from the bloom and grow collection from My Mind's Eye. Scrunched, scrunched some more and wished I was Mona Pendleton... have you seen her flowers??

I used the larger decorative motif from Victorian Frippery as my flower leaves, and the sentiment is from Rescue remedies additions.

oooh and my card base is some lovely hammered cream card from Papermill UK, it has that lovely textured finish already and the back is super smooth, fabby for stamping!

Right, now that I'm 'up' we can slow down! lol, we have all day to get through the waltz list on the forum! time for tea, I think...

hope it tickles!

...Good Saturday Morning!!!

Guess what??? - go on!! Guess what? ok, the graphic above kinda gives it away...Waltzingmouse Stamps has now got a sketch challenge blog!!!!! I am HUGELY EXCITED!!!! This has been something I have wanted to do for such a long time but I have been a little busy elsewhere! lol and so Design Team co-ordinator Lisa stepped in and took the helm! Lisa has created a GORGEOUS New blog for us to post our challenges on and I invite you to take a peep here:

http://waltzingmousesketchchallenge.blogspot.com

Would you look at the wee banner on that blog?!! Ack! how cute is that?? And blinkies? We have a wee blinkie!!! Lisa, you have been hiding your design talent under a great big bushel!

The full deets are on the blog but here's an outline of how it's going to work:

New sketch challenges will begin each Saturday.

Sketch challenges will end on the following Thursday at 11:59 pm EASTERN.

Any posts to galleries or forums should have the keyword WMSC plus the sketch number; for example cards made for today's sketch should use the keyword WMSC1.

We are welcoming folks using any stamps they like for the challenges, but we hope to see lots of people getting out their WMS. There will be random prizes! On the weeks that a prize is up for grabs, the winner will receive a bonus prize if her card uses WMS!!!!

So I'm not sure what you're doing today, but I'm off to check out what the DT have made, my ladies joined in the Challenge this week!!!!! Maybe see you over there!!

For my challenge card I used a circle frame stamp from Vintage Circles Small, I stamped it in Shabby Shutters Distress ink. My sentiment, in Boysenberry, Versacolour, is from the Say it with Style set, and of course several Spellbinders TM dies...! The background is a cuttlebug embossing and the wee slip of card was curled and glittered just to bring out the purple!

Hope it tickles!!

...good morning!

So I'm wading through 'oldie but goodie' projects, thinking about my first year in business, the set above was from the September '09 release. I really feel like I'm just getting into the swing of things now and my ideas books are full to bursting with all sorts of notions I'd love to roll out!!!!

I am particularly excited by one product that I'm hoping to bring out in June, the timing is tight, but I might just make it!!! It's some thing I have wanted FOREVER!! I may be the only person on the planet who see's the value in it, and I must admit my DH is scratching his head over it, lol! but you never know, it might catch on...LOL!

If you've been around the old blog at all this last week or two, you'll know that our first anniversary May release was huge. So huge that I had to push the June sets back to July! Still that's no bad thing, it gives me a chance to think about the business and really concentrate on a few things that otherwise might get delayed, such as the...well, Lisa will tell you more about it at some point! lol (wink Lisa!)

I'm hoping you'll pop back for our June release anyway though, even though there will be no stamps for June, there are a couple of other things going on....

Today's blast from the not too distant past is the Peace and Plenty set, I wheeled out the little thanksgiving ensemble I made for its release, I love the vibrant blue with the tan! you can read all about it here if you missed it and look at other samples here in the store.

I paired it up with Blessed by You, ideal for thank you projects.

...Free Spirit Boy, Day 1

Hello and welcome to the beginnings of the April stamp release at Waltzingmouse Stamps! If you are new to WMS, we release new stamps at the beginning of every month. In the few days leading up to the first of the month I show sneak peeks and samples here on my blog and on the 1st of April I will release the new sets!

Today begins the samples for Aprils two new sets: Free Spirit Boy and Free Spirit Sentiments. There will also be a new super handy template for April, more on that later.

Today also the DT begin their samples and you won't want to miss checking in with Jennifer, Lynn, Julia and Anya to see what they've done with this set.

As you will guess from the titles, these sets are all about making those notoriously difficult 'Man/boy' cards so much easier. There is a huge void in stamp designs that are truly suitable for the awkward 'teen' years and I wanted to steer well away from cutesy cartoony images in favour of something a little more edgy and up to date.

If you are not interested in making man cards, don't run away just yet, there are a few little surprises in these extremely versatile sets that you might just be interested in seeing! lol.

Specifically, the Free Spirit Boy set is designed for folks who need to make cards for boys aged from about 10 up to 20. I really tried hard to make this set a little different from what you might expect. Having said that, this is a hugely versatile set, crammed with 23 different stamps, many of which would be right at home on any sort of card.

For today's first card I used two of the 3 tribal motif stamps to create a sort of medallion image which framed my sentiment. I stamped the images and sentiment onto Kraft cardstock using Versamark and clear embossed with a heat gun. Once cool, I sponged with various Ranger Distress Inks, this is my fave current technique, the clear embossing resists the ink and you get a fab, stand out image with a cool grungy background! Colours used were Chipped Sapphire and Rusty hinge, and some black Versacolour ink. I could have just stamped the images in dark ink for a 'tattoo' feel but I had this Star trek/Klingon vibe in my head and wanted to grunge it up a little!!

The sentiment 'Awesome' from the Free Spirit Sentiments set is one of 54 separate stamps in the set. My little guy is 3 years old, and I have yet to experience what it's like to raise teenage boys but it strikes me that this is the age of encouragement and experience. In these years your little guy will turn from child to man and in all of that time, I imagine you will want to support and encourage him. That was the philosophy I had in mind when thinking up sentiments for the set. Phrases like " It's time to launch your dreams" and "Wherever you go, go safe" are the things I hope I get to say to my son someday as he embarks on the milestone adventures of life. Another thing I picture myself telling him frequently is "You can always come home" LOL, and this is also included in the set!!

The 'Awesome' card was a neat way to say 'well done' to your teen guy, the pic below shows the sentiment I used for the inside - It could also be used on the outside of a card. There are many groups of sentiments in this set that work well together for the inside and outsides of the same card but all of the sentiments work well on their own as well.

I paired it up with the third of the tribal 'tattoo' motifs, I think these are so cool and they can be grunged up, as above, or simply stamped, whatever suits your guy.

Today's second sample, a CD gift tin, uses a concentric circles motif. I see this sort of image on all sorts of 'pop' items and I wanted a large, random version of it as a stamp, something I could use either as a background stamp or to make a focal point.

Here I have heat embossed the image twice in copper embossing powder directly onto a CD tin, I LOVE this look, it looks store bought to me, especially when paired with this super simple black belly band. The little single circle motif from Free Spirit Boy and the sentiment from Free Spirit Sentiments are also copper embossed. I can see me giving this set to an older teen. It has a clean grown up feel, and doesn't need to be limited to boys, I think this makes a perfectly good 'Man' present too! LOL

Inside the tin, a super simple insert card, cut out with two spellbinders circles can be dressed up to match. It just lies on top of the CD. I cut it smaller than the CD because I wanted to see the silver of the CD so that my colour scheme of silver, copper and black from the exterior is repeated inside. Here I've added the little graphic equaliser symbol from the set, also copper embossed as this is a music CD. This is a CD compilation of some of DH's fave songs but you could do this with a store bought CD to dress it up. My CD tin came with the black inset plastic already in place to hold the CD. This took under 30 mins from start to finish.

Today's third card is for all you ladies who don't need to make so many masculine cards. They told me not to but I sneaked some flowers into the Free Spirit Boy set!! LOL, it's just a little trio of hibiscus flowers. They are there to back up the Surfing theme, more on that tomorrow. I know, I know, generally boys don't like flowers but tomorrow I'll show you how they work in with a dude card.

Today, they dress up a simple 'Thanks' card just beautifully. The trio was stamped twice in Memento Rich Cocoa ink in opposite corners to make a frame for the sentiment and coloured with copics. The sentiment is from Free Spirit Sentiments. Then a rectangular shape was cut out letting the flowers overspill the sides. The flowers were stamped a couple more times on the card base, just under the plain corners of the sentiment panel and everything was sponged a little with Tea Dye distress ink. I then wiped the sentiment panel with a little New Canvas Palette ink just to add a little more of a faded feel. Just had to adhere the panel and it was all done.

Sure hope these tickle! LOL.

A note about shipping for the April release:

The Post Office here will be closed on Good Friday 2nd April and Easter Monday 5th April, this means that anyone ordering on Thursday the 1st April, will have their orders shipped on Saturday the 3rd April and folks ordering from late Saturday until Monday night will have their orders shipped on Tuesday 6th April. My apologies if this proves an inconvenience for anyone but hopefully folks will all be having a lovely Easter break and won't mind the slight delay.

...happy WCMD!!

ED - did you have a good WCMD ? I hope so, if you're still looking for inspiration pop over to Bonnie's and Laurie's for more Waltzingmouse Stamps cards today!!

Ok, so I nearly missed it, it's about 11.30pm where I am, lol, but I think it's probably earlier where you are!! What have you been up to for World card making day?? I made curtains today! We're still decorating a bedroom for my big girl...5 weeks later...lol, but there was a release in the middle of it all! Anyhow...

I can't seem to get away from the navy and ginger colour combo... lol, but I like it.

Anyhow, I ran out of time to show you this wee saltbox house image during the build up to the release and I've been itching to stamp it!! It's from the Blessed by You set that released earlier in the week - scroll down if you missed it.

I absolutely adore wee houses and had wanted a saltbox house stamp for ages, (I was a quilter...).

I made a background by singthe Plaid-maker stamp from Off Beat Backgrounds and also the stitched border - stamped in blue. I like how these two work together, giving you yet another option for plaid!!!

A simple sentiment from Blessed by You and a couple of buttons makes for a very simple wee card. I added interest by tracing around a plate to get the curve, cut with scissors, I didn't need to be too fussy since I was going to distress the edges anyway...

hope it tickles!

...Sept 09 New stamps release Day 4.

Ed - the competition is now closed, the winner was posted on wednesdays post, thanks for entering!!

I love this basket of apples stamp from the new Peace and Plenty set - releasing 29th sept! For the first card I had red apples (coloured with copics) and a sentiment from Blessed by You also releasing on the 29th. I used stamps from the Off Beat Backgrounds stampset (Also releasing on that date!!) to make the background papers, the plaid maker stamp to make the green on green twill stripe - ( Versamark for this.) and the chequerboard stamp to make the red BG again, versamark!! love that tone on tone effect, I stitched both panels just for fun.

I found a nice button that had larger than normal holes and used it to buckle my ribbon! I love the zappy colours together, this could easily have been a Christmas card! lol

Same little shaker basket, this time with green apples - also used the copics, I'm beginning to love these, I found them a little strange at first but they are much speedier than getting out the watercolours!

This time I used the outline apple image, also Peace and Plenty, to make a background paper, I used Bamboo and sprout inks from the memento range, i bought these specifically so's I could stamp images to colour with copics but I find I'm loving the inks for all purposes!! especially rhubarb stalk - look out for that in a day or two, I have something really special to show you!! lol, can't wait!!

The little green band was made by stamping the graph paper image (also from Off Beat Backgrounds) in white onto green card.

I cut my main image out with one of those nesties labels but when I cut out the slightly larger label in a rust coloured card I thought that the border was too wide so I adhered it to the back of the main image and then trimmed it down with pinking shears, I like how this turned out. OOOh and look at the wee button! coloured the centre with copics to match - you gotta try this!!

The 'With Gratitude' sentiment is also from Peace and Plenty.

Now - all you folks who do paper piecing, why didn't anyone tell me how much fun this is?? I've only done this a teeny bit before but the new outline stamps from Peace and Plenty make cards like this an absolute cinch!!! I can see me doing a lot of these! I pulled the images together by drawing a pencil line box (I find this much less stressful than taking a pen to it as I can rub it out if I don't like it!! lol) around the images. The 'With Gratitude' sentiment works quite well with this idea if you line the box up with the line between the words, maybe you'll get it straight, unlike me lol!! I also drew little lines to make shadows under the pears, helps to ground them.

Hope they tickle!

Is it too early for a competition? nope? thought not!!
Today I had to do a stack of ironing...aaarrgghh! takes up valuable card making time...so, what I need you to do is tell me what your best time saving tip for coping with laundry is, or better still, how to avoid ironing altogether!! (I may have asked this before but I don't think I found a tip that works for me yet!! I implore you, gimme your best shot!! lol!!) and if you like any of the stamps previewed so far i'd love to hear about it. I will draw a random comment on Wednesday night (my time) to win a free stamp set of your choice!

...Sept 09 New stamps release Day 2. Blessed by You

Today's first card features a willow tree from the soon to be released Blessed by You clear stamp set. I love the simple folk art style of the stamps in this set and the 15 heartfelt sentiments.

Whereas the Peace and Plenty stamp set contains general sentiments such as 'Happy Thanksgiving' and 'Fall Blessings' etc, the Blessed by You set is altogether more personal and covers a wide range of expressions that I have been looking for and not found. Other sentiments in the set such as 'Humbled by your generosity' and 'Comforted by your prayers' I could have used a hundred times over just this year alone!!!

I used the Mindful of your troubles sentiment for the willow tree card and reinforced the sentiment with a tiny little heart fixed to the tree trunk.

I chose to clear emboss the card on chocolate cardstock, and kept it fresh with white and green accents. Love that white gel pen for the wee dots!!

Incidentaly, the willow tree is easily inked up with two colours of inks for folks who like their trunks brown and their leaves green!! lol

The second card features a cracking oak leaf and acorn motif stamp (a solid stamp from Blessed by You), stamped 8 times to make a wee frame. I simply mounted a cream rectangle in the centre, stamped with a large single oak leaf (also a solid stamp from Blessed by You) and a sentiment from Peace and Plenty.

You might have noticed the colour combo before, I'm partial to Palette Cognac, Sienna and Pure poppy! I might have used it once or twice...maybe three...

What else do you notice?....nothing - that's right - just ink and card. No buttons, no ribbon, no bling, this card costs pence, looks rich and would be a dawdle to mass produce!

Hope they tickle!

ps, if you're new to the old blog here, I will be releasing 6 new clear stamp sets here on the 29th, That's a load of images, which is why I have started early...there's only me!! lol, so, check back often for plenty of inspiration, templates, and bring buddies, there'll be a competition or two!!!
