Morning folks and a very Happy 4th July to all my USA buddies!
A wee simple set of cards today for you, using just the solid stamps from the Lovely Lilies stamp set this time, I left off the outlines and I love how this looks. Been playing with my Gina K Inks, layering them up and there are some fab combos to use, I have used:
Cherry Red, red Hot and Innocent Pink - the stamen is stamped in black and then clear embossed.
The Blue Lily uses Blue Lagoon and Ocean Mist, I only stamped two layers on this flower, Stamen was in Christmas Pine.
The Yellow Lily is stamped in Sweet Mango, Wild Dandelion and Lemon Drop. This time the Stamen was stamped in Cherry Red. All sentiments were stamped in Black ink and co-ordinating cards from Gina K were used, I love matching inks and cardstock! :)
Here's the complete set and a wee graphic to show how you can layer the stamps to get the look you like.
I'm in shock, it's the first of July! How in heck? I really don't think I experience time the way everyone else in my house does, feel like I've just gotten squared up after Christmas... anywhoo...
Today I have another card, this time a set, that I shared at the release party - there was quite the scramble on the StampTV website at the release party and the whole thing sort of froze so I'm popping my cards up here for anyone who wanted to see them. Gina has just released a cracking new bunch of goodies, to see what's new click here.
Among the goodies is my new set Lovely Lilies (above), and in contrast to yesterday's card, I made this quick set of more contemporary styled cards using just two layers of the lily flowers plus the stamen. I used Wild dandelion ink and Sweet mango on white card and the stamens were stamped in Cherry Red Gina K ink. I made the card base from Sweet Mango Card.love the matchy matchy.
While I was at it I had fun playing with other inks from my Gina K collection. I love a stamp set that I can use to whip up fast cards!
Using Passionate Pink and Bubblegum Pink, again Cherry Red for the stamens.
Morning! Last night we had the Gina K new stamp release - there's a ton of new goodies available over at Gina's - to see all the new stuff pop over here.
My new set is called Lovely Lilies and it's a layering set that you can use in a few different ways. Here's what it looks like:
The main Lily image comes broken down into three solid layers plus a line art outline, plus a separate stamen stamp, and you can use all of these together or you can use only a couple of the layers, or maybe just the lineart outline - that's a good option if you like to colour with copics or pencils, or maybe watercolours.
Just in case you could use a little help putting these together I have a little graphic for you:
I'm still working on a video, but I can tell you right now that my favourite way to stamp these is to begin with the darker colour first and then stamp the medium tone over that finishing up with the lightest tone, it is way easy to line them up when you do it this way. Thanks for popping in, if you have any questions, just leave me a comment :)

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous blog hop celebrating the new stamp sets by Gina K and the illustrator team from Gina K Designs! We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs! Today, we are featuring the My Anchor Mini Kit. It's a stunning kit and everything included is shown in the graphic below.
The stamp set in this kit is a charming series of hand illustrated scenes and motifs perfect for masculine cards. For my card above, I stamped the chairs scene in memento and coloured it up with copics, I took the liberty of just extending the post on the right up a little using a black pen just so I could add in a sunset. I used Ivory card, but mounted it on a kraft card base.
For my lighthouse card I stamped the scene in brown ink and then coloured before blind embossing the frame and adding a yellow card base. The sentiments in this set are meaningful and I can see me getting a lot of use out of them. Words from the heart.

First up is my Mermaid card made with Beth's adorable set Vicky Mermaid
I created a watery background by stamping off some Blue Lagoon and Jelly Bean Green ink pads onto some clear acetate (front cover of a stamp set is great for this). I spritzed it heavily with water and then laid my watercolour paper on top of it and kinda smooshed it around. Once dry I cut it to size and stamped and coloured some of the seaweed details from the set. The mermaid and seahorse were stamped on Gina K luxury card, coloured with copics and then fussy curt - I use a scalpel.
OK I have rather a lot of cards for you, some you may have seen at the party and some you might have spotted in the video for my Cottage Garden set.
This is the card that is featured in my video - an Introduction to Cottage Garden. It's a card that looks complicated but is actually very simple to create - You can see how in the video here - if you haven't subscribed to my youtube channel - I invite you to do so, I have another video for Cottage Garden in the works that you might find helpful :
Most of my Cottage Garden cards featured today can be made using the example in the video so it's well worth a watch.
for this card below I use the cottage, trees and hedges only. It's very simple but quite a pretty layout and depending on the colours you choose it can be made to suit any time of the year or the mood of any occasion.
You don't have to use the cottage, the garden gate works perfectly well on it's own. I used a shape from the cutting files (available from my dropbox here) to mask the cloud shape and just sponged lightly around the edge.
I used the same masking technique as in the video to add the large tree behind the house.
The cottage looks pretty set into an aperture and you can go mad with the colours - the vintage styling on the set really lends itself to off-the-wall colour choices.

Sharing another card I made with the Cottage Garden set just released last night - did you make it to the party at Gina's? I didn't. Isn't it wonderful how children can be up all night ill and then waken at dawn feeling better and full of zest while we mums and dads emerge from the night shift feeling older than dirt and twice as grubby...
Anywhoo the angels on the Gina K Design team shared a few of my cards at the release party, this might have been one of them, super simple to put together - the video shows you how - this card was created pretty much like the one in the video except that I left off the garden gate image, scroll down, or click here to see that video.

There are a series of 3 inspirational blog hops coming your way on Monday, I do hope you can pop back to see what we made with all the new releases! See you then!
Evening folks, hope all is well where you are. Fancy a coffee? Fancy a bargain (Gina's having a wee sale, deets further down the blog post)
This was a really difficult card to make... it took me all last week just to get through the door of the studio... do you ever have trouble getting going again after a break? I really do. Once I got in there it all came together within about a half hour, which is about how long I always expect to take to make a card, but rarely do...
Anywho, to kickstart my January crafting, since there's less than a week of January left, and people are already talking about summer holidays, I dug out some zingy orange card stock and made a little paper awning to go with my cafe seats stamp from the Petite Patisserie set.
I cut a strip of the paler orange the same with as the white strip of card that my image was stamped on. Then I adhered 4 skinny strips of the darker orange on top of the paler orange and trimmed the ends to look like awning. I stuck the top end to the card base, but popped up the bottom up on several layers of dimensionals so that it sat out from the card and created that overhang. I had already scored a line across the awning about a quarter inch from the end, and so I folded that a little to help the shape along. Then I stamped a 'Caffetteria' sign (from the set) and trimmed it out with scissors and adhered to the fold.
I thought it was simple, yet striking enough to make an interesting card. I hope you like it. I coloured my stamped image with colouring pencils to match the orange cardstocks.
If you haven't seen the Patisserie set, here it is below: it's a nifty set full of sweet things to help you celebrate birthdays etc! Clicking on the image will take you to the set in the store - and that's a good thing because Gina is running a little sale - you can get 15% off right now (offer ends 1/26/17 at 11;59pm - and remember that's USA time!)
Hi, I’m Claire Brennan and I'm a crafter. I am currently designing new stamps for Gina K Designs as well as prepping some of the popular WMS sets for re-release with Gina - it doesn't get any better! Thanks for stopping by, sure hope you see something different here!
