Good morning, good morning! Welcome to the blog! I'm taking part in the Fall Coffee Lovers blog hop today! I love these - they are great fun and what a fabby subject matter! Coffee! Though I must admit I feel like a bit of a cheat as I'm a confirmed tea drinker, but I'm trying really hard to drink more coffee!
To see the other entries in the Fall Coffee Lovers hop check out the
The hop runs from today (the 25th Sep) until Friday October 2nd - get in!!
My card is pretty simple - I used the WMS Coffee Set stamp set and plenty of masking to create a big steamy cloud of coffee aroma for my coffee pot. I used circle punches to create masks, it was super simple. I did try it first in autumnal shades, but my oranges were getting a bit muddy, so I went for pinks and blues in the end. I suppose it's not overtly autumnal, but I do associate hot drinks with cooler weather, so maybe you will give me the benefit of the doubt on this one... I liked how the retirement sentiment fitted the shapes of the stamping, but this card would work with pretty much any sentiment. Hope it tickles!
Sneaky Blog Candy, right here!
As well as the usual massive haul of prizes that will be officially given away by sponsors (yep!! we're sponsoring too!) on the Coffee Lover blog - you really do need to pop over and check that out - I am giving away one of the two new Christmas sets that we just released on Monday - it's called Rustic Christmas quick piccie below.
All you need to do is leave a comment here on the blog telling me what your favourite type of coffee is - I'd love to have your suggestions for what sort of coffee to sample - what should I be drinking, coffee-wise, that would convert me from a tea person to a coffee person?
Ok - I'm off - thanks for stopping by - can't wait to see you along the hop!
Love your creative and colorful steam!
ReplyDeleteI love your card Claire! I have yet to make mine I'm afraid. I just have Nescafe Gold Blend instant coffee usually, as generally I drink tea most of the time - it must be a British thing!
ReplyDeleteCaramel Machiato :) Love the prize :) The stamps are fab. Thanks for being a sponsor too :)
ReplyDeleteHazlenut served black for me. Love this new set, Claire!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite coffee, not a drinker of coffee, but my husband's favorite was Dunkin Donuts with a hazelnut creamer! Thanks for a chance at some blog candy!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I love the masking effect you used to add the steam. Alas, I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband loves coffee so we always have his traditional Dunkin Donuts Original blend. However, he loves it when I bring home coffee from business travels to the Caribbean as they are usually deeper and more richly developed.
ReplyDeleteOh my, LOVE this!! ...sigh...
ReplyDeleteMe encanta esa tarjeta tan original. Unos colores muy bonitos.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite type of coffee is coffee chocolate chip ice cream! I am a tea drinker, but I love coffee ice cream and yogurt. My favorite tea is Earl Grey.
ReplyDeleteGreat crd! Beautifulbackground of steam.
ReplyDeleteSuper fun blog candy!
I'm boring. Just love some strong coffee with sugar and soy milk in it. Although if I treat myself to Starbucks I do love a venti mocha coconut frap - YUM!!
ReplyDeleteYour masked steam is phenomenal Claire! I like the way the sentiment flows with it too. I can't drink classic coffee...my tummy won't let me enjoy it. However, my version is an iced cappuccino mix that I stir in with Lactose free milk. I sometimes top it with spray whip if I want to get fancy. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun bold card! Love the colored steam. Sadly I'm not a coffee drinker....my favorite type of coffee is the kind you get in cakes and candies ;)
ReplyDeleteYour steaming pot of coffee is fabulous, Claire ... such a cute set! Fave coffee ... café au lait in a large bowl rather than a cup ... try it with a fresh croissant (or two!) ... yum! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love this pretty coffee themed card! The stamp sets are amazing too! So many great details!
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Michele
Wow! This card is really gorgeous! I love what you did with the steam!
ReplyDeleteLove your sentiment on the card :) Makes me giggle but true statement for a coffee lover. I love dark roast with some half-n-half and sugar. Way better if fresh ground in the morning and make in the french press...
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, love your card. The masked steam clouds are so cool. Love the sentiment. I too am more a tea than coffee drinker but I do like arabica and blue java. Hugz
ReplyDeleteThat is one sweet card! Love the steam you've created - brilliant idea!! And feel free to drink tea...if we were all the same, life would be boring. I do drink coffee, but what my friends call "girly" coffee; Caramel Macchiato. "Real" coffee is too bitter for me, lol! Anyway, wanted to say thanks for being a sponsor for this hop, too. It's very kind of you. Bev
ReplyDeleteI have a friend retiring in a few weeks. Thanks for the reminder to make her a card. This is my first CL Blog Hop. What a great way to see new products and projects! Happy to be participating and SO happy to see your beautiful work. kReN@afourthlife.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful set, Claire! And, love how you did the steam for the coffee. Fab card!
ReplyDeleteBlack... with a dash of milk! I've got a fun WMS project to share soon.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous stamp set and the Christmas one is great as well! I would suggest you try a nice dark roast, with cream and brown sugar....Try it Louisiana style! I have a friend who makes the best cup I have ever had, with Scottish cream and brown sugar! Thanks for sponsoring this fun event! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and lovely new Rustic Christmas set! If you are a tea drinker...I might suggest a mocha Java coffe. It has a resemblance to a chocolate...not too harsh!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being such a generous sponsor!
Not sure if I can persuade you to become a coffee drinker as I am a tea drinker too. BUT I LOVE the smell of coffee, especially the hazelnut ones, even though it does not agree with me (I get dizzy if I drink it).
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, I started drinking a coffee again last year as I got a Tassimo machine and I love it. I think my favourite would have to be the Carte Noire Latte as its not too strong. Love Julie x
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction to your question about the coffee was .... go vanilla chia .... but then I realized that is my favorite tea.... coffee you say, well regular is good and on occasion I go for vanilla flavored coffee. Thanks for sharing the love of the industry with designers and your leadership is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI love Columbian coffee.
ReplyDeleteOh very cute card!! I usually drink regular coffee with honey and cream. But on special occasions I like one with Hazelnut flavor.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty & fun card! Love the colors! My favorite coffee is a hot caramel latte! Yum! Thanks for the chance to win a cute stamp set.
ReplyDeleterebyah1@gmail.com
What a wonderful creation!! Thanks so much for being a sponsor AND for the inspiration!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the stamp sets!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific card - I love how you did your steam!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sponsoring this fun hop!!
I'm not a strong coffee drinker, so I go for lighter roasts, but I love adding French vanilla creamer to mine - or if I'm in the mood for a splurge, a shot of Baily's Irish Cream makes a WONDERFUL dessert coffee. Just sayin'! (I even have a DIY recipe for that!)
What great images!!! And that card... wowza!
ReplyDeleteWell I won't be able to convince you - I drink herbal tea! My favourite is Chocolatey Chai! Your card is beautiful - I love these stamps! Very cool effect with the steam too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful stamp set! and your card is great super fun sentiment for a retirement card!! Have a blessed day

Your card is so cute and funny. My "coffee break" is a couple of years away and I look forward to it. As far as coffee goes, I pretty much like it all. One of my favorite seasonal treats is http://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/frappuccino-blended-beverages/pumpkin-spice-frappuccino-blended-beverage I order it double blended with extra whip cream. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteGreat Retirement card ~ love the stamp set! Thanks for being a Super Sponsor!
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card and stamp set. Love all of the sentiments.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a sweet creation! love that textured flames out of kettle, a cute stamp set1 thanks for being a sponsor and chance to win some of your fab products!
ReplyDeleteWhat a totally sweet card! Coffee or tea are perfect to warm you up in the Fall. My favorite type of coffee is unflavored coffee with 1/3 hot milk. I've tried different flavors but just keep coming back to unflavored. Well, maybe a little bit of French vanilla creamer if I'm being adventuresome..ha!
ReplyDeletewowwww! what a gorgeous card! It's different and absolutely nice.
ReplyDeleteyay Claire! I ADORE your card, that set is definitely on my wish list! I'm such a boring coffee drinker but I do love my drip coffee:) Love splurging on a Soy Latte, which I've been doing alot lately because of the fall weather we've been having.
ReplyDeleteRustic Christmas <-- gah, how awesome is that?!
Thanks again for being such a fabulous Super Sponsor!!!
I really like the way you made the steam-clouds come out of the coffee-pot...can you smell the Coffee???? t
ReplyDeleteWell, Claire, not a fan of coffee except I love the smell, to bad it never tasted the way it smells. Love tea in many flavors. My Daughter-in-law and son this summer hosted a couple of UK soccer coaches and they have me drinking PG tips. I also got a lovely Assam Manglam from Whittard when I was in Glascow.
ReplyDeleteI have been aware of your site for years, and just got back today to look, and I love all the new stamp and die cuts.
Super cute! i love the stamps too, especially Rustic Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNina-Marie :)

Beautiful card. I love the sentiment. I think that you should try making your own pumpkin spice coffee. I use regular coffee (french), pumpkin spice season, creamer (can be a vanilla flavor or reg dry creamer) and whipped topping. Brew your coffee add to your mug, add a few dashes of pumpkin spice season stir, add sugar and creamer (if you using flavored creamer I don't use any sugar), top with whipped cream sprinkled with pumpkin spice season on top. Now Enjoy!! =)
ReplyDeleteVanilla mocha Soya coffee hit or cold I will drink it :)
ReplyDeleteThose christmas stamps would be amazing to win too thanks for the chance hugs Nikki
Love your amazing card! The sentiment is amazing and the way you created the steam is awesome! My favorite coffee is anything dark roast and black. I know that's boring but that's the way I like my coffee!
ReplyDeleteOh, I do love this cute little card with that clever steam design! My favorite coffee is French Vanilla or Hazelnut coffee with lots of cream!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteLove the "steam", such a pretty card! My favorite coffee is iced coffee, I like to use a good medium roast to make it and I like Trader Joe's Blue Moon coffee for that.
ReplyDeletegreat card and awesome sentiment! thanks for being a sponsor!
ReplyDeleteI love Starbucks Blonde coffee with International Delight Almond Joy creamer. The coffee is their weakest variety and I love the taste of coconut in my coffee! Thanks for the chance to win! Thanks for sharing this inspiration! ~Annie
ReplyDeletehaha...I'm a tea drinker, so I'm not going to lure you to the coffee side--maybe anything that has a lot of cream and sugar and whipped cream to mask the coffee? :) thanks for sponsoring!
ReplyDeleteNow this is soooo adorable! I love the color palette - its so vibrant and colorful! What a fabulous sentiment - LOL! Beauitfully designed and so inspirational - thank you for sharing and blessings!
ReplyDeleteLove your card! I'm recently retired and love coffee so this sentiment is perfect. I love Cappuccino. Thanks for being a sponsor.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully fun card! LOVE that set and it is definitely on my list!!! Thank you for being a sponsor ♥
ReplyDeleteOh...my favorite coffee would most likely NOT convert a tea drinker over to the dark side :D I love espresso and just about any dark roast in a french press....the darker the better ;)
beautiful card, love the colors. I am not much of a coffee drinker unless its latte or frozen but I do love those. thanks for sponsoring and a chance to win
ReplyDeleteawesome!!! thanks for being a sponsor :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job popping up the pot and the clouds of steam! Every morning my husband presents me with a steaming carafe of drip coffee with milk, cinnamon and coconut oil. Sounds weird but it is actually pretty good for homemade.
ReplyDeletethis is such a fabulous coffee card!
ReplyDeletemy hubby and I only drink decaf flavored coffees, but my fave flavor is Pumpkin Spice. I stock up on enough every fall so that I can have it all year long! hubby's fave is called Creamy Chestnuts. it is pretty tasty, too. :)
thanks for your generous sponsorship!
Love how you have created the steam cloud it's brilliant.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Marie dt over at MWLW

Great to see WMS as a Fall CLBH sponsor! Love that steam on your card:)
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a tea drinker, so I'd suggest Tiger Spice or Turtle Spice from David Rio!
Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteNot a coffee drinker ... my preference is hot chocolate at this time of year!
Thank you for being a sponsor and sharing your gorgeous card!
What a fun retirement card, Claire! I love the masking and this coffee pot and cups are so cute! We drink Maxwell House 100% Columbian Medium at our house. We used to drink Folgers, but something happened to their recipe several years ago, but it's getting better in the last year or so as my parents still drink it. We prefer our coffee Black. And we like an occasional Starbuck's black coffee as well. It's a bit strong for me and I love their Blonde roast, but they never have it on brew! I'm not sure whats up with that...dangling it under our noses and then never serving it other than the "pour over" which is no where close to brewed. Thanks, Paulette S.

since google can't correct or delete my blogger profile for a blog that no longer exists as it was moved to WP in 2012 because blogger was not mobile friendly, nor will they let me update or delete it, but they insist on keeping it merged to my Google account information. Nice...
Oh I love your card! This stamp set is spectacular! Thanks for being a sponsor for the coffee lovers fall blog hop! AND for giving away some blog candy! You are too generous!!! As for my favorite coffee, I really like Starbucks coffee frap!
ReplyDeletelove the colors on the card. Thanks for sponsoring the hop. I love skinny mochas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card! Love any coffee with caramel in it... Thank you for your sponsorship!
ReplyDeleteLovely card,it's simple, sweet, cute and very special.Love the soft colors.
ReplyDeleteOh, my........I adore your card with all that wonderful, billowing steam!!! That was a genius idea and looks great in the different colors!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny that you are a tea drinker but are trying to drink more coffee!!! lol... A lot of us have to try NOT to drink more coffee. :) My favorite coffee is hazelnut flavored with lots of cream and a bit of sugar. If you are trying to convert, start with lots of extras added to get used to the coffee taste. Then watch out.....you'll be hooked!! Ha.
Thanks so much for the chance to win that LOVELY Christmas set. Thanks, also, for being a super sponsor!!!

I love your coffee and tea inspired stamp set! My favorite coffee is Pumpkin Spice and Santa's White Christmas- both from Starbucks. I usually use Dunkin Donuts regular when I brew at home.
ReplyDeleteI love your coffee and tea inspired stamp set! My favorite coffee is Pumpkin Spice and Santa's White Christmas- both from Starbucks. I usually use Dunkin Donuts regular when I brew at home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card!! I love this stamp set - and I love the rustic Christmas - so pretty!!! I really like flavoured coffees, which my dh says is not really coffee.... !!!! Thanks for the opportunity! Xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card...and I love a big milkcoffee and your stamps ;-) .
ReplyDeleteYour card is wonderful! I love the fab scene you created and it is super cool how that sentiment tucks right in there! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIf we're being truthful, I'm more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker, too! It comes from my wise maternal grandmother and was passed down to my mom and to me. My sister is the odd-ball who does drink coffee, but she loves tea, too. The only "coffee" that I have found that I like is Starbucks Frappuccinos (mocha especially, but vanilla is OK, too.) I get the light versions which have far fewer calories. Otherwise, I think it's OK to love tea (especially since I think you're in the UK where there's a time of day named after the wonderful beverage!)
Enjoy and thanks so much for being a sponsor of this fun hop and challenge!
I actually don't drink coffee but LOVE the right HOT CHOCOLATE with a bit of Mexican cocoa and a shot of vanilla. I do love your stamp set though, as it can used for a multitude of hot beverage well wishes and encouragements!
ReplyDeleteI love the sentiment - that is awesome! My favorite coffee is a skinny latte. I love coffee that's as white as it's dark. :) I'm also a tea drinker - they fit both moods. My fave keurig coffee is caramel vanilla cream because it's light and flavorful.
ReplyDeleteThe only coffee I like is an Irish coffee (drunk on rare occasions) I love tea!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite coffe with milk and Cappuccino... i love your job.
ReplyDeleteI would love to suggest a coffee to you, but I don't drink it, either. I'm a cold tea drinker in the summer time and a hot tea drinker in the winter time! I love the card and I can understand how your oranges got muddy...I experimented with brown and oranges and wasn't happy with it so I ended up using gold and greens. hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card...love the steam you created. My very favorite coffee is English toffee cappuccino from tim hortons...but I can't get it here in Arizona. 😭
ReplyDeleteFabulous card. I really like the clever way you created the steam. I don't really like anything terribly fancy when it comes to coffee - a long black or espresso from my coffee machine. Don't really go in for flavoured coffee not really even a fan of milk in coffee. However, I don't think you could really go from tea to strong black coffee without some more mild stepping stone. I'm sure you have some more adventurous readers which can give you some good recommendations
ReplyDeleteperfect card! I like flavored coffee--especially pumpkin or hazelnut--perhaps some flavored tea transitioning to flavored coffee? thanks for sponsoring the hop!
ReplyDeleteFun sentiment on this card...great design. My favourites flavoured coffee is hazelnut and pumpkin spice.
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect retirement card and lovely set, thanks for being a sponsor for this fun hop!! Donna
ReplyDeleteYour steam is brilliant! I love my iced Vinacafe premium coffee.
ReplyDeleteI used some of the Waltzingmouse stamps from the same set on my entry in this hop! (I'm no 367 - late to the party as usual)! Thank you for sponsoring this fun hop :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite coffee is iced coffee and right now I an using sugar free Pumpkin Spice creamer in it. After Thanksgiving I will be changing over to Sugar Free Peppermint Mocha creamer in my iced coffee. I really LOVE that Rustic Christmas stamp set!
ReplyDeleteWe live in Arizona so we don't know what cold is; but a cup of hot coffee is even good in the hot summer months...don't go a day without it. I like cinnamon and during the fall and thanksgiving season anything with pumpkin spice is good. Your card is very pretty, stands out from the rest of the fall colors...great job. Thanks for being a sponsor for this amazing hop.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a super card. Love the coloured steam! My favourite coffee is an instant - Gold Blend - sadly can't get that over here (well, I'll be getting some when Ben comes over in a couple of weeks). Mind, I do quite like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte xx
ReplyDeleteWow. That is one cool card. Those steam clouds are wonderful. As for coffee, I'm no help. I'm a one cupper every morning and that's it. I did splurge for a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte last fall, but described it as "drinking a Yankee candle" (know what those are?) Definitely not something for everyday. Good luck in your search.
